Like everyone here I don't give a damn what movie critics have to say but I do enjoy pointing out their hypocrisy of movie reviewers all right Roper whine about the story and violence of TMNT yet his filled in co reviewer got him admit that Will Ferrall(sp) and the dude plays Napoleon Dynamite are playing the same roles movie after movie, no point to Blades of Glory yet he gives it a thumbs up reason why, Will Ferrall acts silly woooow that's logically Rope. And he also gave Grindhouse a thumbs up (not hatin on the Grindhouse) raving about the level of the over the top violence yet turtles using weapons and saving the world is too much for movie goers. Thumbs down for TMNT because it didn't make sense, thumbs up for blades of glory granted there's no story, it feels like a SNL skit that goes too long but Willy F is funny so thumbs up. TMNT thumbs down too much violence, Grindhouse(still not hatin) thumbs up because the death scenes are great.

Well, to be fair, the third act of TMNT was simply awful in terms of plot and editing.

Everyone has their opinions and views about everything. Not everyone is going to like the same type of movies regardless of being a film reviewer.

By the same token, Ferrell's movies have been ridiculous redundant. Saw what you want about Adam Sandler movies, but Ferrell's proven himself far more redundant with Anchorman (as hilarious as it is) followed by Talladega Nights, and now this. It's Will Ferrell, in a profession with a high-degree of celebrity status who fells out of the limelight, then has to get it back.

so, he's pretty much playing himself in every movie, right?

Roeper and his critic buddy hated TMNT before they saw it. In fact, if you watch their review, it's pretty obvious how much they hate the entire TMNT franchise.

He's a narrow-minded elist snob in his review... He doesn't even list the strengths and weaknesses. Just says pretty much "you have to be braindead to like TMNT..." and whoop-de-do! There's a professional review!:whatever:

Just because I liked the movie or the franchise doesn't mean I'm not also into more arteestic independent films. Fools like these totally limit their palates. They blatantly don't go into their task with fresh eyes. TMNT wasn't GREAT as a movie but it was good -- a solid B, in my opinion (as a fan, I give it an A-) But they way they make this movie to be worse than s**t is awful.

Of course not everyone is not going to like the movie, but my point is the clear double standard if Will Ferrall's movie has no point and he acts like the same person in each movie movie viewers go well he's a clown so the movie don't get a grade lower than a C-. Yet they whine about TMNT plot and level of violence.. I don't mind the bad reviews for TMNT but they shouldn't go out their way and trash the movie and insult those who will enjoy the movie for what it is. Heck I admit TMNT isn't without flaws but most of these critcs just rip it just for the hell of it. Watch Roper review of TMNT it's like he not even talking about the movie he and his filled in *****e just rip on TMNT in general and the fans.

It's because Roper is all about the weiner. TMNT had no weiner, and Blades of Glory had a lot of albeit funny weiner jokes.

I could really care less about Roper's opinion on any film to be perfectly honest. :)

I could also care less about what Roeper has to say. I DO remember when I saw the original movies and TV series(I'm 20) and I still am entertained by the turtles. I'm not simply watching it for nostalgia's sake, and I also feel that most movie critics are elitist snobs. They can't seem to grasp that the movie is, first and foremost, MADE FOR CHILDREN. For them to laugh it off and dismiss it like it was a POS is downright unprofessional. Although I've never taken critics all that seriously; this review is coming from a show that gave Batman Begins 2 thumbs down, one of the reasons being that Batman doesn't show up until an hour into the film....enough said.

I also remember either Ebert or Roper gave Spider-Man 1 a thumbs down because he didn't look real during the web swinging and action scenes.

So what?

Today, Will Ferrell has a bigger and broader fanbase than TMNT does.

Again, so what?

TMNT wasn't this bastion of a perfect movie.

A lot of bad and worse movies have made more money than TMNT. It's not worth crying over.

Why get bent out of shape of one person liking Blades of Glory over TMNT?

And honestly, I enjoyed Talledega Nights.

Because Roeper doesn't seem to know what a good movie is. Do you really want to trust a guy who liked Blades of Glory and Garfield?

It's the double stanards, if TMNT is so bad because of the story explain this to me Roper admits blades of glory has no story, no point and it feels like a SNL skit that goes on too long but Will Ferrell acts silly that warrant a thumbs up. Then a week later he admits the story for "Meet the Robertson" was jumping all over the place yet the ending was heart warming mush he's gave it a thumbs up so according to Roper "Meet the Robertson" story sucked for 99% of the time but since the ending was he's liking it's a thumbs up. I'm not saying TMNT should be up for best movie, but *****es like Roper shouldn't try to slime or rip to shreds movies like TMNTor the people who enjoy the movie when he gave thumbs up to movies that would be consider worst.

This is why I hate most movie critics. Filthy snobs.

Stop taking it so seriously.

It's not like he said Raiders of the Lost Ark was crap.

Blades of Glory was the bigger hit, get over it.

I still haven't seen TMNT and this isn't helping.

It seems you missing the point here, Roper and critics like him slimed TMNT because of the story yet in the same time they will admit Blades of Glory has neither a point or a story yet they give it a passed because of Will "one trick pony" Ferrell acts silly where is the logic? Again I'm not saying TMNT should be up for best movie at next year Oscars but it's not what Roper and the movie reviewer elite claimed it was. I just find it funny one week Roper and his little buddy whine and moan that TMNT had no story then a week later gives a thumbs up to a movie where he admits it had no story, had no plot and it felt like a SNL skit going longer then it should is all trump because Will Ferrell acts silly or he manage to bring the same person he plays in most of his movies. I could care less what Blades of Glory makes because no one will be talking about it in a month or when it comes out to DVD, the point is these critics have a double standard.

who wants to bet that they're PAID to like certain movies and bash certain movies.
Ebert's never liked any imaginative movie, he's got no imagination to begin with.
I love TMNT, I guess I'm braindead.
