WB & DC Meet For A Summit

In very broadstrokes.

So, in a scenario where Lois breaks it off with Richard for her own reasons, Superman isn't the bad guy. Lois is single again, and Jason knows Richard isn't his father. Richard is still apart of Jason's life(being the nice )guy that he is). Done.

Still not going to see that. The things I think are wrong about SR are still around as part of the continuity- RIchard, Jason, deadbeat Superman.

Richard's gone. Jason's alive and Superman reveals his identity to Lois thus putting his family together.

The other scenario is. Jason dies of his hyrbid status. Lois, in grief, breaks things off with Richard. And Superman grieves with Lois for their lost child.

The wrongness of the deadbeat Superman aspect of SR cannot be fixed only eliminated from ever having happened.

I'll skip it and wait till the reboot in 10 years after that one bombs.

Nobody cares about the Jason storyline. It is an obstacle not an opportunity. It will drag down any film that has to deal with it. Superman is not about a dysfunctional family situation. A second Superman film has to get as far away from that as it can, not try to reconcile it in the story.

Wait so in both films we would have a depressed tone, SR1= I am upset and have no one because I left earth for 5 years and now that I have returned the woman who I slept with (She doesnt know I have a dual identity) has moved on with her life and has a man that treats her well.........ohhhh boy do I feel so sorry for myself. SR2= Oh boy here I am again feeling sad and miserable, the son I had from a one night stand has just died now I feel so sad and can only find comfort in the arms of the woman I had the one night stand with, oh what a coincidence her nice fiance is not here oh well might as well start with baby number2 so we can have him in Singerman3.

Satel, I think you're being a bit silly about that. Supes was much happier at the end of SR than he was at the start. MoS would be much brighter because of that. Superman won't be moping - he's got oh so much more than he ever had before.

Of course, whether you like that or not, is not up to me (and frankly, even if it was, why would I mind? :oldrazz:)

Correction - I, and a fair few others here I daresay, quite liked the Jason sub-plot, and would be quite happy to see it continued. That you don't want to see it continued is fine, but don't speak for everyone, if you'd be so kind.

IMO, Jason should haver never existed to begin with. And if the sequel follows the SR continuity, then I will have no interest in it. Jason existing at one time (even if he is killed in SR2) is the franchise killer for me.

And this whole Superman and Lois grieving. Some people's defense on here is that: Superman is in the best place he's ever been at the end of SR, he is happy, so that means we won't get a mopey Superman in SR2. Well, I don't know, grieving sounds pretty mopey to me. And Lois breaking things off with Richard because Jason dies? Why? Is it Richard's fault?

I'm sorry but any scenario with Jason (even if he is killed in the opening credits of the film) does not satisfy me. The only thing I will be pleased with is a continuity where he never existed.

^I agree wholeheartedly. Too me, there is just no way this particular version of Superman can interest me. Ever.

Orly? Well I suggest you read what the post I quoted stated.

I won't say this all day since it doesn't matter. I'm not writing the movie and a reboot is probably happening anyway.

The movie is happy and somber. The Superman acts as "Jor-el" to Jason as his powers are emerging. Lois and Richard's relationship is feeling the strain of raising a "Super" child in Metropolis(contrasting the idea that Superman was raised in a smalltown and why that was important).

Brainiac's introduction forces the situation into a even deeper crap as Superman tries to stop Brainiac, who hates the idea of a Kryptonian/human hybrid.

Lois makes the decision to get Richard away from this life, so he can find someone who isn't involved in all this crap. The kid still dies because of Brainiac and Supes reveals himself to Lois. (but that doesn't mean she just takes him)

I don't mind a somber tone if the movie calls for. Spiderman 3 dealt with jealousy and revenge but the movie didn't feel like the Dark Knight by any stretch of the imagination.

Nice! A movie about raising a super-child...and you guys want more action and a better story with that???? LOL

Maybe the increased action of the sequel is going to be Jason throwing more pianos around the house.
