WB is Making the Suicide Squad movie

Does Statham fit as Lawton? Capitol N-O! Will that stop Hollywood from casting him? Probably not.

Yeah, but not that type. He's got a real darkness to him, a lot more cold and cerebral than balls and bluster. It would be very easy just to make Deadshot a badass anti-hero, even easier with Statham playing him, seeing that he specialises in that role.

But Deadshot is like the anti-anti-hero, in that he seems to be following the stereotype of criminal is forced to act like a good guy, and actually becomes one, when in fact he's a criminal forced to act like a good guy, who remains totally rotten and soulless throughout.

Seems like a ball buster to me in Villains United and Secret Six. Fairly quippy. Id characterize him more of an opportunist with no delusions of what his true nature. Sabertooth-esque.

Still, I dont like Statham for the role. I like Timothy Olyphant. Think about his early career playing *****ebags who reveled in their *****ebaggery (especially in Go and The Girl Next Door), not his recent string of overly stoic guys.

The resemblance aint too bad either

Timothy Olyphant would be amazing as Deadshot. Why the hell didn't I think of that?

^ Nice call. I had Olyphant pegged as my Bullseye, but can certainly see him as the DC verion of the assassin who never misses. Perfect-O.

You know what would be funny if this film happens before flash/green arrow films. We get to see a flash/ga villain make it to the big screen before the hero they go after ever makes it. How ironic is that.

Timothy Olyphant is another strong choice for Deadshot.

I want him for Luthor, but I'd be cool with him as Deadshot.

Even though Statham is a household name that TPTB would want to headline the film, I could see Olyphant as Deadshot.

Another actor I had in mind was Garret Dillahunt from 'Last House On The Left' (2009).

 I just used LHOTL as an example. I was never able to watch TSCC do to my odd work schedule. But I did like the few episodes that I saw.

I like Dillahunt in No Country and John from Cincinnati. Kind of opposite roles than Deadshot but I know he plays the tough guy all the time.

I like Dillahunt as Deadshot, a lot

Olyphant for Deadshot. He was great in Deadwood. I agree with cerealkiller182. He does play a good *****ebag ;)

So has their been any other news on this project since it was reported first a few months back possibly happening. If not it will probably be like pretty much everything else rumors/hopes of starting up and then nothing comes about.

probably so just like everything else idea pops up but no follow through.

WBs definitely not focusing just on big names considering Lobo, Bizarro, and Adam Strange were among the recent news pieces. Frankly, I think WBs waiting to see the outcome of Jonah hex and Green Lantern to move forward more swiftly in these projects.

it could but i seriously doubt bizarro big budget film will happen and who knows if or when adam strange/aquaman/etc.... other projects from that article a few weeks back will get off of ideal stage.

Amanda Waller- CCH Pounder, I know she did the voice on the cartoon but I just cant see anyone else
Nemesis- Gabriel Macht
Rick Flagg- Johnny Messner
Cameron Chase- Tatum O'Neal
Bronze Tiger- Michael Jai White
Deadshot- Timothy Olyphant
Captain Boomerang II- Zack Ward
Enchantress- Maggie Sif, not completely sold on her
Count Vertigo- Benno Fürmann
Clock King- Christopher Lloyd
Thinker- Jeff Goldblum
Plastique- Christina Hendricks, tipped for every comic chick in the book, but this is who i'd choose her as if she could only play one
Mirror Master- Stephen Graham
Killer Frost- Mia Kirshner
Bane- Javier Bardem, most likely Darth Vadering the voice
Tattooed Man- Bokeem Woodbine, I dont think this is the version who appeared as a Suicide Squad member but I like this one better
Blockbuster- Glenn Jacobs (Kane in WWE)
Captain Boomerang I- Kevin McNally
Black Orchid- Rachel McAdams, least likely to happen but she says she likes the character but I believe she was referring to the Vertigo version not the DCU one
Catman- Josh Holloway

i agree.

I think Green Lantern will the key to other DC big-wig characters like The Flash or Wonder Woman.

Meanwhile, Jonah Hex will the movie that will determine smaller character based movies, like Lobo or Adam Strange.

Lastly, I think The Loser will test the waters for more Vertigo based movies. I know that V for Vendetta was a Vertigo movie, but I'm saying this is a new start for WB, with their film plans with DC.

the only bad thing that p*sses me off is that WB decided to move Jonah Hex up against Toy Story 3..

Really? ****, then it's ****ed.

The idea od somethign like this, especially for somethign the ga has not heard of to move it to an isolated date with no to almost no competition. And they do this?
