A SCENE FROM THE MOVIE
Kumar: I've had the munchies for these White Castle's all night long....man they smell good.

He starts to take a bite...

Jack: DROP THE BURGER NOW!!!

Mods have said do not post that picture Dotten so if I were you I would remove it

What? Strange, my bad. Did not know that. Strange rule, but hey, not my forum, I'm just a guest here, so they do what they think is best. Althoug I did get the picture from other posts on this forum.

Basically, if you loved the movie, that's all that matters...no sequel...no problem...you'll have the DVD for Superman Returns to watch for years to come, and enjoy to your hearts content. I personally don't wanna see Zod, or any super-computer robots, with Dave Chapelle (Aka Richard Pryor) the computer genius...so I'll have to pass on sequels at the theater, if singer follows that mold. :)

LOL.....the crapiest saber fight out all the SW films hands down. An older Obi Wan had no chance against a prime Vader. Sadly....

Kumar drops the burger. He's stunned.

Jack: WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR!

Kumar: I don't have a job.

What the hell. According to BOM estimates SR only dropped 3% this weekend..

I'll tell you right now, if he uses Zod, I will not watch it, and I will boycott this film until they do something original.

Yes and I will Boycott The Dark Knight because they use The Joker again. Nolan is so un-original...

[/sarcasm]

I just don't get the Zod hatred. Sure, I would prefer a movie with another villain, but to boycot a sequel with Zod? No way. The movie could be great with Zod as a villain.

It's been done already with Superman 2, and the Richard Donner Cut is coming out as well... I want something completely original and breathtaking... not a carbon copy of Donner.

Has Zod been used in the comics anytime in the last 20 years or so? I would like to see some newer villian, keeping up with the current comics more than one that hasn't appeared for a very long time.

while I agree completely you can be almost assured Singer and crew do not have an original bone in there bodies so just expect ZOD in the sequel.

Sad really with so much source material to work from he could do sooo many stories that would at least new to the big screen but if they do go with Singer and crew just expect ZOD at least thats what I expect from him and his crew of writers.
Since anything else would require you know research into the comic books and not just putting the cover from superman# 1 in the movie, you know actually having to read them and familiarize themselves with the actual hero Superman and not just STM.

Was Zod ever in the comics before Superman II?
Anyway in the last few years we have seen at least a couple of characters named Zod in the comics. And some dozens of Supergirls.

It depends. I think that WB or DC CAN intervine, just like how Avi Arad of Marvel pushed for Venom in Spider-Man 3.

Honestly, going back to a character who isn't even active (currently) in the comics would be a big mistake. I don't know where Brainiac is at in the comics right now, but at least you can buy a handful of tradepaper backs within the past 20 years with him as the villain.

Yes I'm with you on that, but the point is that I'd rather take a SR sequel with Zod rather then no SR sequel at all.

I think that using Zod again in a movie set in the Donner universe would only be right if Superman kills him like he did in the comics

I think Singer abandoned the Donner-Verse when he chucked that huge rock into space...I don't know if that was the idea, or just my hopes.

I agree, it was metaphor to say the least. I think that the artist formerly known as Oldguy said it best, when he called it a "funeral for the Donner unvierse."
