Superman Returns WB, Singer, and the Sequel

If you think this board is bad now between people who liked & did not like the Movie. If Singer uses Zod this place will be well over runned by pissed off Fan Boys (I would be one of them) if Zod is used in any form. Its one thing to simply mention his name but if we see him then you damn Singer. 2009 will make this place look good then the way it is now

Well... I survived the Casting Wars in this forum... so I'm already prepared for the Singer Sequel Villain wars...

Heres another recent article

The WBs President pretty much says the Sequel is set for 2009 with Singer returning & that they have faith in him. I guess when the Sequel does happen Singer is returning
There you go, guys, that part of the "flame war" is officially over. Straight from the horse´s mouth, WB will make another. And Singer will helm it, bet on it.

Hehehe, now where are all the people who said I was in denial when I said the movie was going to be profitable for the studio and they were likely to make a sequel with Singer?

But of course the usual will happen... the same group of fanboys will spend the next three years bitsching and moaning about how much Singer sucks and WB sucks and in the end they will pay the eight bucks and see the movie which makes their years of bitsching and moaning completely pointless from WB´s POV.

ROFL!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

ummm.....no......I don't think I will be seeing SR's sequel.........nor will I buy the SR DVD.......I don't like what Singer did with SR and the direction he took/is taking the character......so I refuse to support the franchise anymore financially.......

Hey if Mr. Horn wants to lose money, that is his business. More importantly, he has something at stake here: he was the one who hired Singer in the first place.

It makes you wonder if Legendary will see eye-to-eye on if Singer is rehired. Legendary took a lot of hits this summer and they are new company. They are responsible for half the budget. Do you think they will run the same risk of another Singer Superman film? Would that be a sound investment? Could you imagine what will happen to the budget and film if they pulled out?

I only saw SR because of my (and others) effort in the past to get McG off. That and so I can give Singer the benefit of the doubt.

I am not going to buy the DVD, and I have convinced a few (about 8-10) friends who haven't seen the film not to see it. I told them to do the same with their other friends. The only one who didn't listen to me did not like it (substantiating my claims). I am pretty certain they will not buy the DVD, they will probably rent it out of curiosity.

I encourage disgruntled fans to not buy the DVD, speak with your wallet if you are not pleased. It might be small but it is better than nothing.

I am not watching the sequel if Singer is attached, maybe a rental at most. I have the Dark Knight franchise to tie me over and that should somewhat please WB, right?

I didn't hate it like Catwoman, I admit it had it's moments. But I don't think it will age well from repeat viewing like Batman Begins. I think a lot of people are "caught in the moment of nostalgia".

Once you are aware of the major holes in the film, each viewing will make it less appealing. The novelty and nostalgia of John William's theme will wear. I recall Mark Millar saying the same thing. If this is true, buying the DVD would be counter intuitive.

If Singer is resigned, and he uses Zod, that is the final nail in the coffin for me.

BTW Thunder Emperor, pixels. All images have pixels in them :)

No no no. this is a victory. Drink your champagne for superman and his son! Jason... Jason....And Lex and his wig!!! and the puppy!!! oh yes, the puppy... i love that puppy.

Wait let me edit this. There's more.

I must say... We are finally getting the superman we aaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllll wanted. He's daddy. He throws big chunks of kryptonite stuff into space! omg... and oh yeah... he's a daddy. And finally we'll get to see his rematch with zod. How I've dreamed of it... Kneel before khan.

I'm already celerbrating . I'm so happy Singer, [bosworth, Routh & spacey] are returning. I really want to see how Lois & Clark will end up together, as they are DESTINED to be. Now that singer confirms 100 % that Jason is Superman's son , I'd like to see what direction the story will take .

But the big thing I can't wait to see is Spacey returing for another as Lex Luthor .

:D I know1!! cheers, omg. I can't wait to see Kitty too. She's HILARIOUS! ha ha ha ha, can't wait to see her say some more witty lines. too bad Kal Penn was killed by superman. [ock]butterfingers![/ock] He would have been cool to see again.

Lois and Clark together! You have a great idea. I hope so... Screw Richard.

Oh and the direction of the story with Jason? Oh that'll be fun to see. Superman will tell Richard to go to hell, I hope.

We're getting a sequel and probably Singer returning. Ah. All is well. :D

actually....i wouldn't mind seeing more of Kitty.........I actually liked her......and better looking than lois........

The funny thing is there was a time when the fanboys were foaming at the mouth at the possibility of Zod being the viallian in SR...now its flipped...fickle fanboys.

Yeah, Parker Posey surprised me. She was actually good in the film. It surprised me- because I personally hated her in Blade Trinity. Yet, she was great in SR.
