What's interesting is that Rowling has already noted that this film at least starts in New York City. While the lead will likely be British, I don't think the Brits-only rule of the earlier films will apply.

I don't either which opens up a lot of casting potential. However, I don't want any big american actors like Depp or Pitt or Norton etc.

Watch all the Americans be played by Brits. :funny:

Norton is no bigger than Oldman was when he played Sirius Black.

It's about him overshadowing the whole project. Casting Norton (especially after Birdman) or Pitt or Depp or any American megastar is a surefire way to make the films all about that one star.

I guess I see your point because the media would focus on Norton, but he's not some huge star like Pitt or Depp.

I read this title as 'Fantastic Breasts and Where to Find Them'. XD

She's saving that one for her adult books.

Was the American wizard world ever mentioned in the books? Be interesting to see.

It was implied but never touched on I think. Like it's one of those old world things that Europe still ****ed around with but we probably let fall to the wayside over the years.

I recall reading that Dumbledore's mother was American.

Goblet of Fire mentioned a group of American Witches at The World Cup as Harry was walking to get water.

Yep. They were from Salem. Some kind of Witches Organization of Salem or some such thing.

And I really hope that the American wizard's school is at least named in this new trilogy. Having a name to call it would be nice.

Yes, in Goblet of Fire. They are mentioned during the competition. They say the school is located in Salem. The Salem Witches Institute.

Ha, I never caught that. Kind of an obvious way to stick us in there, but funny.

The "Quidditch through the Ages" tie in book Rowling wrote for charity describes an American wizard sport called Quadpatch as a parallel to American Football.

In GOF, while Harry, Ron and Hermione are wandering around the camp outside the Quidditch World Cup, they pass by American Witches under the banner of The Salem Institute or something to that effect. That's really the only thing she's ever mentioned in the books.

In her Quidditch through the ages book that she did for charity she has a rather extensive history of an American version of Quidditch called Quadpatch which an analogous to the football/soccer situation.

You people love your Doctor Whos.
