Is the Sun not reliable?

Well it depends. Anyway I cannot wait for this!

Edit. yes Sun is a tabloid.

Yeah, The Sun is like the Daily Star; they shouldn't be trusted but who knows...

Sun or not, I hope it is true. It would be a little slice of perfection. :atp:

Ohhhhhh, I certainly hope this proves to be true :chd:.

Are we getting nuanced Theory of Everything Redmayne, or campy as all Hell Jupiter Ascending Redmayne, hmm?

Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scalamander? I don't see it, honestly.

And as for him waiting for the script before deciding... really? J.K. Rowling wrote the screenplay, if I was him, I'd be telling my agent "She's a great writer, I'll do it anyway!"

I'll just say it: I'm not a fan of Eddie Redmayne. This would not be exciting casting for me.

He was fantastic in Theory of Everything (and hilarious in Jupiter Ascending), but otherwise... yeah, don't see all the fuss about him. There are so many other UK actors that are more versatile and engaging than Redmayne in all genres.

I hope Redmayne passes on this, or has conflicting schedules that prevent him from taking the lead role.

Yeah, he's a hot property at the moment but I honestly don't get it.

Me neither. He does nothing for me. I'm hoping he turns this down and they go with Nicholas Hoult. I really liked him in Xmen First Class and DOFP.

Eddie Red. Mayne.

I swear that ***** stunt he pulled with the Oscar thing just destroyed any fanboy love he may have had.

What stunt? Getting an award fanboys demanded be given to their fallen idol who was in the process of making his comeback?

Redmayne would have to be foolish to pass on this. You don't turn down Harry Potter money. :nono:

See, I wasn't nearly as impressed with his performance in Theory of Everything as I expected to be, either. I mean, he did a good job, but I just wasn't as wowed as everyone else, I guess. Every performance I've seen from him as left me cold, I'm afraid.

I still can't believe he won the Oscar over Cumberbatch, Keaton and Gyllenhaal.

I am hoping he passes on the role, like he did for Beauty and the Beast.

Yeah I'm of the opinion that he was the weakest link in that film. Hell, that whole film was weak imo. I still can't believe it got nominated for anything.

Go with a lesser known actor like Rollo Weeks. He's pretty much an unknown these days

Unlike with Harry Potter WB doesn't have to cast a very young lead. This means they can actually get a well known and/or experienced actor for the lead character. They aren't going to cast an unknown actor with little experience and no built in recognition if they don't have to. They've made this clear by courting Eddie Redmayne. They want a well known, and in the case of Redmayne, Oscar winning actor because he brings a certain prestige and credibility to the whole project.
