Warner Bros. and director David Yates have narrowed down their choices for the two female leads opposite Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander in J.K. Rowling‘s “Harry Potter” spinoff “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” TheWrap has learned.

Saoirse Ronan, Dakota Fanning, Lili Simmons and Alison Sudol are up for the role of Queenie, while Kate Upton, Katherine Waterston and Elizabeth Debicki are being eyed to play Queenie’s older sister, Tina, multiple individuals familiar with the situation have told TheWrap.

Though it’s unclear whether all of those actresses are available or even wish to pursue the project, several of them already have test deals in place, and Redmayne is expected to read alongside them during those tests, which are slated to take place over the next week.

I know that, but the fact they even tested her is bad enough. It tells me their heads aren't in a verygood place. My confidence in this project is dropping.

The actor bores me and is about as interesting to watch as paint drying. Its not my fault the man is bland.

And before you make the accusation or anyone else does, my dislike of Redmayne has nothing to do with his oscar. He was always going grab one. I expected nothing less amd it didnt change my opinion of him one way or the other.

Although the fact that Kate Upton is testing for this has me worried. She may not get the role, but that is worrying.

As long as Upton doesn't get the role, I am good. Maybe the audition is a favor. If she gets it, they can jump off a bridge. Especially with Elizabeth Debicki testing. You'd think she'd be a front runner with her being in UNCLE.

off topic, but i didn't realize dakota fanning was already in her 20s. the last movie of hers I saw was war of the worlds, which is pretty old.

Not excited by the cast either. Of course we'll have to see how the performances actually end being, but considering the actors alone, it seems kind of meh, especially Kate Upton.

It feels a bit weird too that for so long the trio were the face of the Harry Potter universe, so now to have new actors representing the franchise makes me little sad. Dammit nostalgia.
