I will harvest that planet tomorrow, before I let her take it from me.

I don't mind Eddie, but I didn't like his lip quivers in Les Mis. It's always quivering, it creeps me out.

Yeah. I'm not a fan of his acting. I know, I know.

Same here. Ben Wishaw was my dream casting for the role, but c'est la vie.

Hopefully the supporting cast is as impressive as the supporting cast of the Harry Potter films and so good that it makes up for this bit of casting.

I feel like his performance did a full circle with his role in Jupiter, from bad-bad to great-bad..being the best damn thing in that damn movie.

I was really hoping for Matt Smith, but once Redmayne's name came up I knew he'd get the role. Oh well. I think he'll do fine.

I'm fine with Redmayne, I hope to see some American witches and wizards, and some of their customs.

One of the most fascinating scenes in GOF was when wizards from everywhere come for the Quidditch world cup and we barely get a glimpse of it, so I really hope we get to see how different countries have their own magical cultures, beyond just America.

a few tantalizing clues relating to this movie which sheds more insight on the US side of the Magical world:

.@tannerfbowen No, but he's going to meet people who were educated at [name] in [not New York].

then someone asked a followup and she replied thrice! the pic below compiles them:

@jk_rowling Will the [name of the?] Wizarding school in America have any relevance to the Native American-Indian culture?

J.K. Rowling ✔@jk_rowling
.@loonyloolaluna If I answer that fully it will reveal the location of the school, but you can take that as a yes!

I mean, I'm expecting the American wizarding school to be in Salem, but I hope that's not the case because that would be rather obvious.

I wonder if she's planning to write any book material related to Fantastic Beasts or Newt Scamander. She's said no to more Harry Potter for the foreseeable future, but that doesn't really rule out anything set in this era, IMO.

If the American school was founded by native Americans and based on Native American culture and it's form of magic does that mean American Wizrads don't use spells based in latin?

Sounds like this film is going to seriously expand the magic in this universe.

actually she addressed that too a few tweets prior

basically the Salem Institute in the books is not a school, more like an organization of witches. however she stops short of denying any school found in Salem or MA though so thats still kinda open ended.

well she wrote this screenplay for the movie thats why it took so bloody long, she hasnt indicated any companion material for this. maybe she might agree to do comic book tie-in? pretty sure she's aware the extra stuffs that comes with franchises now :woot:

oohh! you know thats the first time i heard that from a Potterhead. good job mate :highfive:

that is very interesting to note, we get to learn spells in Native American dialect. she wont divulge the tribe because location but then also probly because of the language as well. although she did clarify that the name of the school isnt Native American, its immigrant-- so meaning its in English? Spanish-based? French-based?

I am watching the HP movies for the first time.

Prior, i had read part of the first book and could not finish, and watched the fourth novie, i think.

I find the furst three movies middling. They're ok. I like the cast and embrace of the weird. Worst part might be the broom stick sports matches, which i find very boring.

I will keep watching for general cultural enrichment.

Thank God it wasn't Kate Upton. Waterson is pretty damn talented.

I thought Queenie was the main female role? Anyway, I like the choice.
