We need a new great superman game.

Until today I am quite unfamiliar with Superman's rogues gallery. I know LeX, Doomsday, Brainaic and the ones that appeared in live action films. But I don't think I can name 10 Superman villains. With Batman, I can name at least 12.

A modern solo game for Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and even The Flash should have happened by now. Its weird because WB doesn't need to shop it around studios because they actually have gaming studios in their company, unlike Disney with Marvel and LucasFilms. Arkham Knight iirc was my 2nd PS4 game and since then I've played so many modern third person action adventure games and its actually kinda got sad, the games we got/getting after Arkham Knight are Gotham Knights/Sucide Squad Kills the Justice League. We got Injustice 2 as well, and I have it but its a fighting game which was pretty much DC All-Stars. I also don't play Lego games so I always forget those.

I think the interesting part will be thinking of missions with superman villains other than beat em up. For example, maybe you have to find bits or Metallo over the city and help construct him so you can fight him or like a horror section where you have to use stealh to avoid silver banshee

Superman: The Animated Series did a great job with his rogues gallery. Villains for the Man of Steel to fight in video games would not be a problem.

Yeah people just don’t know those rogues because there hasn’t been as much superman media lately but they’re good rogues!

I’m actually playing dragon ball z kakarot at the moment and if they could do that for superman it would be superb

Nice list - plenty of great villains to populate a trilogy or so of games with multiple smaller narratives.

Some great ideas here. I kind of like the idea of a Smallville sequel type game where Superman is discovering and learning about his powers, building up to the big final moment

We could have gotten a Superman: Metropolis City game, 3 years after Batman: Arkham Knight.

Imagine if there was actually a plan to give the big DC heroes their own game (Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern) after the Arkham Knight, or at least just 1 of them. Which would lead up to Justice League Assemble.

That would be really cool. It doesn’t even need to be a shared universe thing, just all those games would be wonderful. Especially an aquaman game, ah that would make my heart sing.

And green lantern is perfect for a video game, maybe more so than a movie

Rocksteady pitched a Superman game to WB games after Arkham Knight, they had concept art and everything.

WB games passed and instead gave us Suicide Squad. The time for a grand Superman game has passed. It's never happening, ever.

But it won't be made. We were all begging for a Arkham style Superman game during the years of the Arkham games. And we got ****ed over as usual. Even if Gunn's Superman makes over a billion, a game still won't happen.

But back in the day Supermans standing was a lot worse than it is now.
If the movie makes enough money, gains enough momentum...a game isnt out of the question.

On this the problem is less the IP and more that WB is just for some reason weird about the Gaming sector.
If the movie makes enough and WB manages to grow a brain for once, a Superman game is more possible than ever at the moment.

Yeah the second part of what you said was a bit of a twist on the first part Brolly. Rocksteady aren’t what they used to be but suicide squad’s flop makes pitching a proper Superman film easier especially if it was originally on the cards and then they made the wrong decision.

Let’s be honest suicide squad flopped because it was PvP. A story based Superman film, released near the upcoming movie and done well, could easily …ah…fly sorry for the pun
