We should just wait for Marvel to get the rights back.

I say we just wait for Marvel to get the rights back. Then have Quentin Tarantino direct the sequels that'll make Punisher 2 a truly hardcore franchise.

In that movie just have them throw all the circus freaks of experiments gone wrong at Punisher. Weaving together a story around death and gore where Frank is the um...."Hero?".

I figure Marvel would have no problem attempting this. They have Favero on Iron Man. Why wouldn't Marvel go with someone who's career seems to be costume designed for gory anti-hero movies.

QT needs to stay as far away from the Punisher as possible. QT is nothing more than pop culture crap and deserves to be shot into the sun.

For you to want QT to direct the Punisher shows you know absolutely nothing about the character.

Who's to say that if Marvel got the rights back that they would even do the sequel?

Tarantino wouldn't do it anyway. He said in an interview with Wizard magazine several years ago that he'd never do a comic book movie because of how psycho the fanboys get. Can't say that I blame him.

Dude, that is your opinion, your opinion count as much on any subject as much as any other faceless poster.

Yet, you offer no alternative directors with the intensity and mass appeal style a QT helmed film would offer. Besides that the subject seems very personal for you in my book that alone would count you out from the argument.

Seeing how there seems to be a buzz for it with a director & cast members. Why wouldn't they?

That comment seems like a joke. A good presentation and a good budget would get him on-board for Punisher. All he has to do is check out a Ennis TPB.:)

BTW, I would like the movie set in Russia.

For my choices for director all you have to do is look around. We've been through the director choices before. And Tarantino did say that in a Wizard. Why would anyone want a Punisher movie to be over the top gore and wire fu? And to have the movie set in Russia is just pathetic. You know absolutely nothing about the Punisher and are just trying to start arguments. Get lost!

So true.

What idiot would want the Punisher set in Russia? And QT as director? Sounds like a stupid fanboy dream. He probably also wants QT to direct Superman and Batman as well.

Wasn't it reported that we'd get news on the movie in March or April? I mean with the script being written, i'd say we should get some news around that time...

Man I need to listen to my sig.

So what, does being a Punisher fan make you a ass? Well i guess now I can understand Tarantino's statement.

Well here hoping for intelligent conversation. Good Night

well if QT directed I seriously doubt hed use wire fu techniques maybe save for explosions, personally if I could choose someone to direct Id choose James Cameron, Verhoevan or Norrington and for a script Id hit up Garth. I hope that guy from Collateral doesnt cinch on this job. Nuff said.

No, it makes us passionate about the character. QT is not the director for the Punisher. Russia is not the setting for the sequel. If I come across as an ass, so be it. Be a man and suck it up.
If you are going to do a movie on a comic book character do it right or don't do it at all. Mark Goldblatt and Boaz Yakin should have thought of that when they did the 1989 Punisher movie. They took off the trademark of the Punisher, the skull, because it made him look to much like a comic book. "Hello dumbass!!" That's your source material.

I believe Michael Mann did Collateral he would be my second nominee for the Punisher movie. Collateral felt like a social thriller in the some of the same veins as Death Wish or a Dirty Harry movie. But those movies lacked in that comic book depravity of a Ennis written Punisher. Throw in some super psychos then we'll have a work of art, that'll span generations and rake in that QT fanbase money.

Get over yourself, who's to say what's the right movie and what isn't. I wouldn't care, nor would any audience care if Marvel started over. All that other crap you're spitting is extra. Save that for your journal.

I'd rather have Kurt Wimmer than QT.

Have any of you heard of Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction. I much more obvious of a perfect director can there be.

BTW, Equilibrium is a martial art film. What in that movie shows a valid relation to the Mythos of The Punisher. A Punisher movie seems like a licence to stylize the worst of human qualities & watch one those monster snuffs out the other.

How about offering some of your perpetives on a great Punisher movie.

Or in Kable's reguards the "Right" Punisher movie.

I think EQ is a beautiful film... Yea, I said beautiful! It loks nice, and it's a movie about feelings. But, there's another thread about who we'd like to direct it, so let's not go all pirate on this thread.

My post was more about not wanting QT, than wanting Wimmer.
