Hey Guys, I'm New here and I'm from India
Besides, I have cooked up a few ideas of my own for a Spiderman Webshooter!
I am too a fan of Raimi's Series and hate TASM 1 and 2 [TOTAL CRAP] Itotally wish that I could Upload stuff but sadly, I can't cuz I'm New.
If anybody wants to review my ideas of a Spidey Webshooter, please e-mail me here - [email protected]
Thanks
Your friendly neighborhood gamer!

Hey guys do you think it's possible for a kid to actually work on creating web shooters? I understand the basics behind this and I think I almost fully grasp the concept but I'm wondering if you think I could do this. I am 12 years old by the way.

Yeah, me too. I think I get it, but it would be super helpful if you just summarized it, so everyone is all on the same page here. By the way, yeah, you could get it. Why couldnt you?

I'm sure you can work on Spidey Webshooters! nobody keeping you from working on 'em right? I too am 14 years old and am working on them.
Everything counts on Ingenuity and Imagination!!!!
Best of luck!
:yay:

Yes, of course you can. I'm 14/15 too and building one. The only thing you may have trouble with the the formula for the webbing as it may include complicated chemistry.

The thing that I'm trying to work on at this point is how I'm gonna make the liquid formula solidify quickly. I'm thinking a heated spinneret maybe? But I don't know how I would go about this. Any suggestions? Also, I'd appreciate any help I could get with spinneret designs/ideas and formulas.

Btw how is the formula going? I haven't been on for a while. Are there any working formulas yet?

Ik I'm posting a lot, but I'm confused right now. People have actually finished? Elxiah said he was done and he said he hasn't used it in a while. Did the shooter actually shoot a formula that solidified and could hold weight and pull things toward you? I don't want my shooters to be simple and easy to forget about. I want mine to be a big deal. Is this forum about real web shooters that can hold weight and do some things that Spider-Man's web shooters actually do? Or is the forum just for people looking to make a simple device that shoots a big sticky blob of goo? I apologize if this sounded rude, as that is not my intention.

To make the fluid solidify you need a liquid that evaporates quickly when exposed to heat using a heat coil. I don't think any of the shooters have been able hold more that a few grams. Sorry to disappoint. And if you think you have been posting quite a lot you can just edit your post.

Hey guys!
Welcome to the forum! It's always great to have fresh faces who we can share ideas with!
I'm only 13, and I'm working on a web shooter (sort of). My design is basically just a modified grappling gun that sprays web fluid out of the end so that it can stick to other objects. I know it's not an actual web shooter, but for a newbie, it sure beats messing around with wires and valves and stuff, especially if you haven't studied at chemistry at a university.

p.s. feel free to comment on my blog or send me a PM if you have any questions about my designs (I could even talk you through how to build your own grappling gun/web shooter if you wanted!)

EDIT: all my designs work with materials you can find around the house, so there's no need to worry about cost.

Well I know most shooters have been able to hold a decent amount of weight so I'm not worried about that. But I might give up on its just because it's too complicated and I don't think it'll work out. I can't imagine that I would ever have a useful idea that nobody has already thought about.

Never Give Up! Think about it. You research and learn, and you can make one. If you haven't read WW's journal you should. It contains valuable info. :)

How can I make a spinneret that would spin? Also how would I use co2 to make the webs come out? If there was a puncturing needle how would that work?

Btw are there any good formulas yet that can hold a lot of weight? Please let me know as I plan on experimenting with formulas this weekend. Also tell me if you have any ideas for formulas and I will see if I can get the stuff to try them out.

Hey guys.
I've finally started work on my shooter. Basically, it's just going to be a pimped-up grapple gun. However, at the end of the rope, there is going to be a small capsule, rather than a hook. When the capsule makes contact with a solid surface, it will open, releasing a quantity of web fluid onto the target. When the fluid solidifies, it will bond the end of the rope with whatever you're trying to shoot.
I know it sounds basic, but I think it's easier and cheaper than producing an entire tank full of web fluid, which could potentially be very time-consuming. This shooter will cost next to nothing to build and will use a modified web formula that can be made from household products, if possible.

I have based my designs on the simple notion that we are trying to replicate the procceses used by Peter Parker to build his web shooters. Now, considering the fact that Peter Parker was relatively poor, we should try to use cheap and easy-to-find materials in both our shooters and our formulas.

Thanks for reading. :)

p.s. I hope I haven't bored you all with the huge paragraph.

This is kind of my idea the only problem i have with my design in a fast adhesive that will hold a few 100lbs and a motor setup that will pull my weight but good idea you should work on it.

How do I set up the spinneret to actually spin?

How do I set up the spinneret to actually spin?

You can use a turbine that spins as the fluid passes through it, using it as a pneumatic system. Or, you can attach gear teeth to the outside and have a motor turn another gear, which in turn, corresponds to the teeth on the spinneret, thus spinning it.

How would I make/ where would I get a turbine? A few more questions. Does anyone know any good formulas that can hold a lot of weight and don't involve anything hard to find? And also, can somebody tell me the easiest web shooter design? I want my shooter to shoot as far as possible. I don't know what kind of valves to use, how to make a spinneret, how to make the shooter actually shoot, etc. could somebody either explain this to me or give me a link that answers all my questions in detail?

How would I connect a heating coil to a battery btw

I know I'm asking a ton of questions but if i were to use a solenoid, how would I connect it to tubing? Also, I'm wondering if I could reinforce a coke bottle with duct tape and pump it up with a bike pump, fill it with fluid, screw a t coupler into the top of the bottle and connect tubing to the t coupler leading to the solenoid.

Just when I think I understand, I dont. I really need pretty much all the information that is accurate so far. I'd appreciate a link.

I think the best idea is to use Carbon NanoFibers bonded with acrylic glue.. How about that?

Then we can use 4 pressured canisters to store 'em and spray them through nozzles...
The thing is that Carbon Nano Fibers (CNF) have high tensile strength and even a string is unbreakable. It is also elastic but doesnt show the property of stickiness. So, i thought that maybe, if we could mix it with acrylic glue then it's EUREKA! Sorta :D

Well I know most shooters have been able to hold a decent amount of weight so I'm not worried about that. But I might give up on its just because it's too complicated and I don't think it'll work out. I can't imagine that I would ever have a useful idea that nobody has already thought about.

Carbon Nano Fibers (String) can hold a lot of weight... Just dont know how much.
Also, THE CNF is liquid in pressurized canisters as soon as it is shot through nozzles, it solidifies in time period of a second... It isnt that costly but its very hard to get hold of. Once stored in sufficing amounts, it should be enough.
