Sounds right to me! Just hoping its not too complicated because something is telling me it is gonna be a lot more complicated than it seems.

What if we made a web like a bungee cord? If we could make a highly elastic braided strand to increase strength, wouldn't the web be able to save you from a fall? Of course the formula would need to be very strong. Even if the web isn't the strongest, braiding should significantly increase tensile strength.

yes that would work but we can just use a small but strong gauge of bbungee cord they have different gauge at different strength but if we braided it we would need it to be thin but super strong but its hard to relel string thats too heavy with a portable device.I was thinking something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWrEfczSNE8 but with a portable repel and an amped wench and the wench would be in a different place.

Why would it need to be thin if we braided it? If there was a big enough opening for the web to come out of shouldn't it be fine? Also, does anyone here know what could be mixed together that would solidify to a bungee cord-like material that would also be sticky? Lastly, are we still trying to make biodegradable webbing?

It could be thick but not that heavy and im not make mine biodegradable.

hey there Hii.
You are making a lot of questions and I don't blame you but I really suggest you to read this forum read everything and pay attention to it is very accurate info that White Widow left to us before leaving almost 2 years ago- http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=389245&highlight=web+shooter+possible

For answering your question about the web formula...
We could help you with some materials and some chemistry thing (people like wadaltmon would really help) but asking us a formula.... YOU HAVE TO DO IT YOURSELF! it is not just that all the people here who have made a lot of effort and have spend a lot time searching and investigating for a formula would tell their investigation to someone who is new.
With all respect i would be happy to help you but not in the way of telling you my progress.

Well I did say ideas. I was in no way asking for someone to just give me a formula that they have spent years working on. I couldn't make a formula no matter what. Everything would be too hard to find and I wouldnt know what the solvent would be for a particular formula. I just wanted some ideas that I could test out. Btw I've read all of that. Isn't it a little bit outdated by now? Especially the formulas?

no it is not "out of day".
Also for solvent you could use ethanol, acetone, water, aquose acetone, etc.
if you read all of that then try something from there it also gives examples of the parts of the formulas so yeah it functions and is very useful information.

Is anyone working on other spiderman gadgets such as something that replicates spider sense or gloves that let you climb walls?

IMO web shooter would be easier to make other than the Spider-Tracers (which still uses Spideys Spider-Sense)

Originally, the tracers used a small radio transceiver that allowed Spidey to track it similar to GPS. However, his "tuning" it to his Spider Sense came quite a bit later.

Does anyone have a working formula yet that holds a lot of weight? Just curious

I found this formula on one of the other threads and I'm wondering if it would hold up a decent amount of weight and what properties it would display, if it would even work. Here it is:
Cellulose acetate
Polyvinyl alcohol
Contact cement
Acetone
Water
If this would work, where could I get or how could I make cellulose acetate?

Let me get this out of the way here... you cannot make cellulose acetate. This is because one of the reagents used to make it is also used for illicit activities. Basically there is no way to get it unless you work for a lab or a university. I think pllagunos found some on Amazon that you might want to look into.

White widow said it should hold around 80 pounds

Wadaltmon do you have a working formula yet that holds weight

I do have one, but I haven't tested it through the extrusion process as of right now, as I am trying to find a better solvent for it. Just acetone isn't enough for it.

When do you think you'll have a new video up on YouTube?
