how do you actually make a spinneret?
Well, not easily, at least from my POV, I'm taking a heated needle and puncturing holes in a metal tack, then welding it to a long thin piece of metal that attaches to a motor in the back of the shooter.

On the other hand, I was at a Tradesday in Weatherford today, and I bought one of those old toy web shooters I used to play with back when the Tobey McGuire movie came out. Surprisingly, that little silly string toy gave me some ideas.

Why not utilize this simple idea in a shooter? If I remember right WW was making pressurized cartridges, maybe I'll try and make something to that effect, a plug-able cartridge into a main nozzle. At Walmart they sell extremely small flasks. And whatever the formula is for silly string, as ridiculous as it may sound, couldn't some polymer adjustments and hardening agents make that suitable formula?

I didn't really explain the release that well. It's actually hooked to a small hinge at the bottom, so when I push down on the lever, the circle in the chamber goes down with it.

you could even stylize the pack to look like the one on the superior spider-man's new suit

how do you actually make a spinneret?

buy a lot of small copper tubes, wrap them with nichrome wires attached to postive and negative copper tubes to a battery then apply epoxy to thetubes so they hold on, then add a second mono spinneret (nozzle) so all the fillament will come out as one.
The way this works is that the fluid passes through the coppert tubes which have heat so the solvent evaporates finally they cone out as small fillaments which the nozzle converts into a rope.

see the date of that article please it is 2010, they are not that close to replicating it

And Wadaltmon, I would really enjoy a Word Document or a post on RealWebTech that goes in depth to describe each individual part of a web shooter since you seem like you have the most experience(with what, 6 years!). After that we can have a better understanding of it and build off of it. I know that this is too much to ask but it would be 'amazing' for the new peeps. I would even post my simple designs on it. I also feel that the one thin this thing is lacking is a website or forum that is split into multiple sections such a shooter and fluid sections, for better organisation so we don't have to explore the hidden depths of this topic.

I'm going to make a video series on that sometime soon.

I've been in robotics for a couple of months so this may sound strange but are any of you guys using programs in order to control the spinneret or triggers?
S1ru5 I have a similar design to yours and I was wondering the dimensions you were planning to work with (length, width, height)

I have a program in a a microcontroller controlling the double tap protocol in my shooter.

Hello guys i have been watching some of you and it seems like some of want to become a SH but i was making a team i need people who are skilled in martial arts, chemist, engineers, parkour and acrobatis relly anyone who has a skill they think can help my cause if you want to become a team member or want to get more info send me a PM (I) Age 14 and up

Uhhh, I was thinking about using a micro-controller to control the speeds of the spinneret motor. I would have a secondary spinneret pointed to the main line, so when the spinneret would move at different speeds it would form a knot. (Just an idea (: )

S1ru5, your above post (the first post on this page) would work generally, and this was the basis for the GPM concept I came up with a while back. But, then I realized: what if you are walking around, and change the orientation of the can? It wouldn't spray. You would have to keep the canister completely upright for the entire time you use it, and it would hold minimal formula. That's why I started using GPM 3.0 (which is a different thing than the original 2 GPM concepts, but it was easier than calling it GPPM). Basically, originally, I had considered that the gas itself would act as a piston, when in fact, it doesn't. You need a plastic or some other material real solid piston, which is powered directly by the gas.

I need help none of you want to make the world better to live in and save lives?

I've actually ditched the idea already but thanks. I'm actually in the building process right now. I'll be back in a week or so with pics.

We have police for that.

Funny. I planned to use an Arduino mini. Google it. Almost have some designs together BTW, anyone that wants to see them can PM me. But you may not necessarily get them. Depends if I trust you or not.

Your post confuses me.

Police are not doing things that my team will i want to have my team trained past any police, firefighter ex. but it seems like most of you are just trying to finish a webshooter when that will not help anyone when a disaster happens you guys will not be ready and im trying to make a team that is but thanks for listening.

This is so stupid I yelled "WHAT?" loudly.
This is not the appropriate place for this. We aren't vigilantes. We're trying to build a web shooter. This is not a comic book. If a disaster happens we have people for that. And the whole "14 or older" thing tells me you are extremely young. Otherwise you would know NOT to sifn up young kids for your ridiculous wannabe avengers team that's inapplicable in our society. At least not by people like you.
