I heard you the first time! :argh:

Anyway, notice how "real" music is being pushed back and this generic crap is being pushed? No one really sings these days without the computer's help? Most of the music sounds a like these days. Even going with rap. It was the "voiced of the hood" but look at the last 2 years, white artist have won it.......not that it's wrong.......but it seems like their is an agenda being pushed. Rap doesn't have any message at all now. You go from Public Enemy and 2Pac to Jay Z and Little Wayne...........Really? Most people I know can't even listen to music on the radio these days and that includes teens because even they say it's horrible. If it's true that the USA is involved with trying to incite a revolt in Cuba through their youth through their music, wouldn't they have to see if that experiment worked? Look no further than the USA. We've been purposely dumbed down so much that it's not even funny. Everyone is basically being taught to go with the flow instead of being that needle in the haystack to bring about change. I also find it fascinating that music's top artist are now in their 30's and 40's with no new...............eh I don't want to ramble but I can't put all my words into coherent thoughts. To much to say and I don't want to sound like that drunk uncle who you know loves porn but just can't prove it.

Intriguing theory but I believe it's much more likely that the bigwigs with all the money are the ones controlling everything in the commercial music game. And that is the same with pretty much every genre of music. It's also been that way for as long as the music industry has been a thing. Teens don't control the radio or commercial music, sadly that is controlled by and large by 8-12 year old girls for the most part. Sadly if anyone wants to see real changes in the mainstream music scene people are going to have to stop pirating music and spend money on it. That would actually be a message the execs listen to

Yeah but notice the genres are all crossing over to sound a like? Sorry but Taylor Swift and country singer do not belong in the same sentence! She sounds more pop than anything else but yet they are pushing her on us. None of the new artist have staying power. You can barely name a song from 4-5 years ago because they all seem to be one hit wonders who were pushed on us and we were "told" to like them. Unless you push certain things, you won't make it these days and youtube has spared a lot of us who want to hear real music because the radio spews the worst garbage I've ever seen. Even though I like to watch Anaconda and Booty video alone late at night under the covers, I think it was a horrible idea for those videos to be in the top 5 videos of 2014. And those same songs are on teen choice awards. It's like they are purposely making us more and more immoral and it seems like the next generation is getting worse.

Not to sound hipster or anything but a huge chunk of the music I listen to these days I find with indie things on youtube. I can't stand most of whats on the radio anymore.

That's what I'm saying. It seems that rarely anyone can, including most teens. If this stuff is being "forced" on us like it was infiltrated in Cuba, who to say it isn't being done here, especially with the crap we hear on the radio these days. It is beyond gross!

Chaos ensues as armored truck spills $4.5 million on a street

Dozens of Hong Kong motorists and pedestrians rushed to grab loads of money after an armored truck's doors opened by accident on a busy road, spilling about 4.5 million US dollars in HK$500 notes (US$65) on Christmas Eve, reports the South China Morning Post. Check out all those frantic bastards.

[YT]Lm0DinT8xqQ[/YT]

Police has asked the people of Wan Chai, Hong Kong, to return the money, but the people of Wan Chai are all like, "huh, wut? No way, man." But the police is like, "hell no, man, that's not cool at all. Give us the moneys!" They have already arrested two taxi passengers—a 43-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman. So far, the police have been able to find HK$5.69 million (US$733,256) on the road and elsewhere, says the South China Morning Post:

We found the money stored under the bed at their homes and they admitted they took the money on Gloucester after getting off the taxi they were in.

Well I guess it is still technically stealing

It IS stealing.

Is ever a money bag goes flying out of an armored truck at my feet the old adage of losers weepers finders keepers will come to mind.

Oh the poor helpless bank!

Wall.e Restaurant Staffed With Robots Opens in China

pm0uhzhsnmxo6cq5zxku.jpg

Yet another new restaurant with robot servers has opened in China. And the owners seem determined to test Disney's patience with intellectual property laws. Why? The name of the restaurant is apparently Wall.e — just like the cute little robot worker from the 2008 Pixar film.

It seems like a new robot restaurant opens in China every month these days. But sadly, here in the United States we have a dearth of robot-centric dining options. The 1980s kid in me truly weeps.

This new restaurant is in Hefei, Anhui province of China and has similar looking robots to the one that opened in Chengdu recently. Clearly some robot vendor is cleaning up with these things, which reportedly cost about $10,000 a piece.

Does this mean that Skynet is going to come online soon?

Cat Finds His Way Home After Being Accidentally Sold With a Mattress

rtslqje0igmdyfk5pnlc.jpg

"I messed up and accidentally sold my girlfriend's cat," a Portland, Ore., man named Roy Dufek posted on Reddit earlier this month. "While she was at work I helped her out by selling the two beds she had in her apartment because we were going to use my better beds that I had at my house. Little did I know when the cat is scared it hides inside the box spring."

So poor little Camo, a 5-year-old tabby, was strapped to the roof of a car along with the mattress. Although Dufek quickly realized what had happened, it was too late to chase down the vehicle and get Camo back.

Dufek's girlfriend, Hayley Crews, was "absolutely crushed."

"Camo was her world and I was the one who took that away from her days before Christmas of all times of the year," Dufek wrote.

The couple called up the buyer of the mattress, who lived 5 miles away, and searched their house, but they couldn't find Camo anywhere.

After 10 days of intensive searching, though, Camo is finally back home.

The Oregonian reports that Dufek and Crews got a tip that the kitty had been sighted near the airport, so they set up a cat trap Saturday night, baited with sardines and familiar-smelling clothes from their apartment.

When they checked back 90 minutes later, Camo had taken the bait. And luckily, he was in pretty good shape after his 10 days in the wild.

From the Oregonian:

Dufek said Camo had lost about two pounds and was a mess. He had a cut lip, several broken nails, bleeding paws and a partially closed eye but no serious injuries.

"He spent the night getting up several times eating and drinking and was taken to the vet this morning. The vet gave him an antibiotic shot, a good inspection. .... Hayley gave him a bath and he's been cleaning himself vigorously since. All is good."

It's the best Christmas present the couple could have asked for.

"It's the best feeling in the world to know friends and strangers alike have had our back in time of need, and to have him back safe and recovering," they wrote in an update on Reddit.

Las Vegas Might See a Rare Snowstorm on New Year's Eve

xwwdoppbnzwy8ux1hsnc.jpg

Las Vegas, the gambler's paradise in the desert whose average high sits at or above 100°F for three months of the year, is getting ready to see a rare and potentially dangerous snowfall on Tuesday and Wednesday. The city could see up to three inches of snow on the ground by New Year's Day.

Snow in Las Vegas is rare, but they've seen bigger and more photogenic snows than the one predicted this week. Since the airport began keeping records in the early 20th Century, the city has recorded measurable snow (≥ 0.1 inches) 29 times, with the most recent snowfall occurring on December 17, 2008 (3.6 inches). The greatest snowfall recorded at the city's airport was a whopping 7.4 inches, seen on January 31, 1979.

Sitting a little over 2,000 feet above sea level, Las Vegas' relatively low latitude, dry atmosphere (it is the desert, after all) and prevailing weather patterns prevent the city from seeing as much snow as it could. When storm systems bring precipitation to the area, the tropical moisture that feeds the storm from the south often prevents atmospheric temperatures from dipping low enough to cause a changeover from rain to snow.

w1fdqxjgekbvrdjuzqr6.png

What's different this time? A very sharp trough over the Intermountain West will help to develop an upper-level low that will usher colder-than-normal temperatures into the area. Lows in Las Vegas will dip down to or below freezing during the event, allowing any precipitation that falls to reach the ground as snow instead of a cold, wet rain.

According to the National Weather Service office in Las Vegas, forecasters are confident that a storm will form and temperatures will drop to or below freezing, but they have low confidence in how much moisture will accompany the storm. The solid majority of busted snowfall predictions fall through because of a lack of precipitation. Often when we see a promising snowstorm form on the models, the precipitation will have to work through some pretty dry air before it starts to fall. The rain and snow has to moisten the lower levels of the atmosphere before it reaches the ground. Sometimes this takes much longer than predicted and sometimes the atmosphere never moistens, preventing any snow at all.

Assuming that enough moisture is in place to allow precipitation, and it falls as snow over Las Vegas, meteorologists predict that the city could see up to three inches of the white stuff by Thursday morning. In anticipation of even a light dusting on surfaces in the heavily-populated tourist town, the local National Weather Service issued a blunt message to residents and tourists, advising them of what to expect if the forecasts come to fruition:

MANY TOURISTS WHO COME TO LAS VEGAS MAY BE UNPREPARED FOR THE TRUE WINTER-LIKE CONDITIONS THIS STORM COULD BRING WITH IT. TRAVEL CONDITIONS COULD BE DIFFICULT - IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE - ON AREA ROADS STARTING TUESDAY NIGHT INTO NEW YEAR`S DAY. SNOW REMOVAL EQUIPMENT IS VERY LIMITED IN THE LAS VEGAS VALLEY ITSELF. PARKING ON ROADS PUTS YOUR VEHICLE AT RISK FOR BEING SLID INTO AND ALSO MAKES ACCESS ONTO STREETS HARDER FOR VEHICLES THAT NEED TO GET THROUGH. IN ADDITION...ANY SNOW...EVEN IF IT DOES NOT AMOUNT TO MUCH ACCUMULATION...WILL MAKE WALKWAYS AND SIDEWALKS VERY SLIPPERY. WEARING SHOES WITH GOOD TRACTION IS RECOMMENDED TO AVOID SLIP AND FALLS.

EVEN IF SNOW IS LIMITED IN THE AMOUNT THAT FALLS...VERY COLD TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED IN LAS VEGAS WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES EXPECTED TO BE IN THE 30S ON NEW YEAR`S EVE DAY AND ON NEW YEAR`S DAY. ANYONE WHO PLANS TO BE OUTSIDE SHOULD TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO PREPARE FOR BEING EXPOSED TO NEAR FREEZING OR SUBFREEZING TEMPERATURES FOR SEVERAL HOURS. BRING LAYERS AND DRESS WARMLY.

Much like some parts of the Deep South, this part of the country rarely sees accumulating snowfall outside of the mountains. Neither people nor municipalities are equipped to handle icy roads. If you live in Las Vegas or you're visiting this week, use common sense if you're out and about when roads and sidewalks are slick.

Any Hypesters spending New Years Eve in Sin City?

Not me. Wonder how the drivers will react. In Tennessee they closed the schools for two inches of snow. That ain't nothing here in Massachusetts. :p

Two-Year-Old Fatally Shoots Woman With Handgun at Idaho Walmart

v7l26hcyu8txxkgllpep.jpg

A two-year-old boy accidentally killed a woman, reported to be his mother, this morning at an Idaho Walmart. Police say the boy fatally shot the woman after grabbing a handgun from her purse.

From the Associated Press:

The woman was shopping with several children, and it is unclear how they are related, Kootenai County sheriff's spokesman Stu Miller said. Authorities originally said the boy was the woman's son.

The woman, whose identity was not released, had a concealed weapons permit.

Miller said the shooting was accidental and occurred in the Wal-Mart in Hayden, Idaho, a town about 40 miles northeast of Spokane, Washington.

The woman and the children were in the back of the store near the electronics area when the shooting occurred, authorities said.

That's horrible, I can't imagine knowing that he will grow up and be told he accidentally killed his mom when he was 2

Well given that opossums are notorious a**holes and mean little critters I don't know why they would choose that damn thing

They're not mean, just misunderstood. :p

Walmart
Gun ( w/o safety on in purse ? )
2 y/o kid
Kid shot mother.
Too much cliché in one post.
That is a sad story.

There is a lot to say on that story but the reactives among the membership would be hot and quick to defend anything even remotely close to gun control/safety/restrictions.

This is an utterly pointless death. That's all that can be said of it.

Every one I have ever come across has always been an a**hole

And stubborn as ****! A colony of the things live in the woods beside my house and Ive had a lot of run-ins with them in the past 10 years. They get after my cat's food in the middle of the night and they are loud and when I try to run them off they just square up and stare at me and hiss. Broom or gun they dont care they just stand there. The big old grey and white ones especially might as well be honey badgers for all the **** they give.

We make artificial intelligence do the dirty work, and one bad day for one little bot will start the uprise.

North Korean Defector to Airdrop The Interview into North Korea

jztptyov7pjoljjvuluh.jpg

A North Korean defector now working as an activist in South Korea told the Associated Press that he plans to drop 100,000 copies of The Interview into North Korea by balloon.

Activist Park Sang-hak claims that the Human Rights Foundation is financing the production of 100,000 DVDs and USB sticks carrying copies of the film, which he will drop by balloon if weather permits.

"North Korea's absolute leadership will crumble if the idolization of leader Kim breaks down," Park told the AP.

The Human Rights Foundation did not confirm their involvement in this scheme to the AP and did not immediately return a request for comment from Gawker, although they are currently running a campaign on Indie Go Go to "smuggle and airdrop films, literature, encyclopedias, and media into information-starved North Korea."

North Korea has tried to have Park killed several times.

Update, 1:35 p.m. – From a statement provided to us by the Human Rights Foundation:

It is HRF's commitment to put 100,000 copies of "The Interview" into North Korea in 2015. This effort will take place throughout the year, in conjunction with the distribution of a range of different films and media, and will be conducted in partnership with multiple defector organizations.

As one of the human rights organizations that considers property rights to be a fundamental and key component of a free society, HRF does not engage in nor does it encourage the violation of copyright or intellectual property rights. In the specific case of The Interview, we were approached by an executive from the company involved in the electronic distribution of this film and are currently in useful communications to explore the options available to make distributing this film in North Korea a reality.

"Mr. Park is the head of Fighters for a Free North Korea, one of several defector organizations that we will be working with," HRF's director of institutional affairs Alex Gladstein wrote in an email.
