At least he was trying to lose the weight and inspiring others to do the same. I can't imagine being stuck in my room for years at a time, that would drive me crazy

And I felt huge when I was almost 300.

Nobody Wants To Host The 2022 Olympics

It is a pretty big wast of money for a bunch of stuff that will hardly ever be used again

Not really surprising since anything there can rarely be reused and it's a colossal waste of money and resources for something that'll be there for two weeks then gone, especially after Russia.

Didn't you read the article? The deer possibly took it's own life. It's dead dude

The last time I heard anything really neat with kazoos was in Weird Als Smells like Nirvana parody.

I loved a little band called Local H that used the kazoo to great effect in one of their albums. Still one of my all time albums to this day

And its a waste of money when you consider that things like synchranized diving and other equally stupid things are in the olympics today. Cut 90% of the BS "sports" and have the games last a single weekend in an already present stadium in the host city. Have tests of endurance, strength, agility, intelligence etc. That's a true olympics. Not the crock of **** we have now.
I think it would take more than a weekend but it probably would take no more than a week if a lot of the sports and sport-like activities were cut.

And I wish I was joking, it probably wouldn't reduce the cost to the host city by more than a third since a lot of money is spent just getting the win in the first place.

Woman Is Officially Over It, Fills Entire Lawn With Sand

Georgianna Reid, of Kansas City, Mo., was sick and tired of all the work involved maintaining a beautiful yard. Mostly, she had grown to resent having to mow and water her lawn. So she resolved to do what anyone would do in her situation: fill her lawn with 80 tons of sand, for which she paid only $4,000 to do.

"Now being over 60, I've decided that I've owned the house for 33 years and that I wasn't going to mow anymore or water," Reid told KCTV.

Some of her jealous neighbors think that Reid's beach house is bad for their landlocked neighborhood. Some have even filed complaints with the city. "I think the house looks revolting with all that is out there," neighbor Edwin Bisby said. "I'm sure it's going to hurt the property values in this neighborhood."

For her part, Reid really does not care what her neighbors think. "I would say, 'I'm putting in the largest litter box in the world,'" she said.

Also, if you took anything from her beach-yard, please return it:

A rather confrontational yard sign is posted in the yard offering a $2,000 reward for tips on who stole a volleyball net, lawn ornaments and a life-sized chest set. Reid said they set in the sand until they were taken.

Woman Hit By Flying Buzzsaw in Midtown Manhattan

A woman was taken to the hospital with a cut to her leg after a buzzsaw being used in construction in Midtown Manhattan broke off its machine and came flying down the street.

According to NBC New York , the construction team was working at 48th Street and Ninth Avenue on a project for the city: tearing up a street to get to a water main. The three-foot blade tore through the adjacent walkway.

"I was on the right side of the sidewalk, suddenly everyone started yelling 'Get down! Move!'" witness Matthew Bisi told NBC New York. "It was just like crazy chaos. People screaming, all the construction workers."

Sean Kuilan was also on the street when the blade came slicing through. "I hear the blade and see the blade literally coming off the machine," he said. "It was huge. It looked like it was from a horror flick. I couldn't believe it." He also saw the woman get knocked down by the flying buzzsaw.

"It took her right down, gashes on the side of the thigh," he said. "The force of that coming in was pretty hard."

Police say that the woman was taken to Bellevue Hospital. The security cam footage is appropriately terrifying.

Things like this are why I avoid NYC

All the Olympics ought to be held in Greece. That way the facilities would get used every four years at least.

That's not a bad idea. It'll help the economy too since they won't have to do much more than upkeep on existing places after the initial builds instead of making more.

But what about the Winter? I say we go back to Sochi. :)

The Sochi Olypics were pretty hilarious but I'm sure there are places in Greece that get snow during the winter and are skiable. If some summer facilities could be built in the same location that would be even better.

All winter Olympics should be held in Antarctica to make it fair and unbiased.

I vote Mars. We should be there by that time frame anyways, right?

Teacher Shaves Teen Girl's Armpits in Class

A Victoria, Australia mom is upset after a teacher shaved her teen daughter's armpits in class, in front of two other girls. The school says it's just part of the curriculum.

Fourteen-year-old Taylah is a special-needs student enrolled in a life skills program. Her mom, Melissa Woods, says the public shaving left her "extremely upset."

"I spoke to the teacher the very next day and she told me that she has the right to do it, it's part of the curriculum," she told radio station 3AW.

Principal Libby Hosking said parents were informed that shaving was part of the class.

"The overview went home in the final week of team one with a note that explained this is what we would be doing," she told the Sydney Morning Herald.

Hosking also said that the students had been taught about consent, and the teacher got Taylah's permission for the shaving demonstration. She emphasized that students weren't taught they needed to shave their armpits, "it's just an option."

But Woods says Taylah's teacher told her Taylah would get picked on for having hairy underarms. She also said she hadn't given the school permission, and her daughter had previously told her that she didn't want to shave.

The school apologized for not sending home a permission slip, but not for the actual shaving. Woods has escalated her complaint to the school district.

What class do you take were they shave you?

It's part of a personal hygiene course from the sounds of it. This is something a lot of people, women and men do, so I don't see why there is such a fuss over it. It's hair. It'll grow back and the teacher was right that hairy armpits especially on a girl will get her mocked. Tact might have been better but it is nothing that is not true.
