Transformers Were you wrong???

I went in not knowing what to expect, and I loved every minute of it.

No, I was expecting a great movie, and I got it.

I was expecting plently of action, and suffice to say the film had plently of that. Also, the film was better than I was initially anticipating it to be, so it's all good.

I bashed Shia pretty badly before the movie came out, because I pretty much hated him in everything I had seen beforehand. However, after his performance in this movie, I kinda like him. So yah, I was wrong about that, I thought he would be the death of the movie and now I'm willing to eat my words.

No, I was expecting a great movie, and I got it.

I knew what to expect. Pretty much got it except for Shia's surprise performance...he really shines in this movie. Everything else boiled down to what I expected which was:

Lots of pretty action and spectacle
Not a lot of Transformer character development and story

The comedy was a plus except it became overkill with the hackers and John Tuturro. I don't agree with all the poll options so I won't vote...but it turned out to be what I thought it would be and I enjoy it for what it is. But I still say the potential was wasted.

I thought I gave a fair number of options. But, hey, it's great to see people willing to discuss their reactions. I got a huge jolt out of the Optimist Prime and Negatron threads, and figured this would be another good thread. Seems to be working thus far.

I was essentially an undecided. Although I was optimistic about Bay and the designs of the robots, I wasn't a fan of the script...particularly bumblebee using the songs to help sam woo mikaela...

Turns out that not only did I LOVE that, but I thought the script managed to work.

I was never an optimist prime. I just reserved judgement till the final product. And boy did the final product kick all sorts of ass. Best Damn movie experience ever!!!! I dont know how in the hell Bay is gonna top this one.

I'd never seen the Transformers cartoons so I went into the movie fairly undecided...I was afraid it was gonna be terrible though. I absolutely loved it :heart:

I was never negative. TF while cool, and i loved the cartoon as a kid in the 80's, but i never posted much on the TF boards. I also did say that this is the kind of movie for Bay. I knew he would deliver.

I've been into fighting changing robots since I was wee, and I got a whole load of fightin changing robots.

Here's to spendin money on the 2disc DVD...and two more sequels.

i was complaining about the choices made and the poor script for months to anyone that would listen...i thought my fave childhood toys would be butchered by bay. i whinged and complained....but as soon as i heard primes voice over all my negatrons were nutralized. the script, the bayness, the character models, they sucked on paper. they rocked on film.....i had one of the best times i have had in the cinema in ages.
loved it...warts and all..
