We've known for almost two years that there was a Scalped adaptation in development at WGN, but now it has officially been ordered to pilot.

The pilot was written by Doug Jung, while DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns is attached as an executive producer.

They are reportedly considering an all Native American cast, as the series takes place on a reservation.

Hopefully it gets ordered to series.

No Scalped fans out there?

I've not read it but it's supposed to be a really good series.

I just haven't gotten around to reading it but I guess I should get moving on that.

I've only read the first four volumes of Scalped, didn't even know about this being made. Wow!

‘Scalped’: Alex Meraz Cast As Lead In WGN America Drama Pilot

Alex Meraz (Suicide Squad) has been cast as one of the leads in WGN America’s drama pilot Scalped. The project, which will feature a predominantly Native American cast, was written by Doug Jung (Banshee) based on the DC graphic novel series written by Jason Aaron and illustrated by R.M. Guéra.

A modern-day crime story set in the world of a Native American reservation, Scalped explores power, loyalty and spirituality in a community led by the ambitious Chief Lincoln Red Crow as he reckons with Dashiell Bad Horse (Meraz), who has returned home after years away from the reservation. The Native American casting will be a first for a television series in recent history.

Didn't read the comic but glad this show is moving forward.

Sounds interesting but I know absolutely nothing about the comic! I think it's awesome that it'll have a Native American cast. With Meraz cast it seems they'll also cast Latin American Natives

WGN America is halting their original programming due to being sold to Sinclair Broadcasting (who are going to air cheaper content) so this show either will die in its current form and show up on a different network in a couple of years or may find a new home this spring with the current cast/producers.
