Seriously, everyone is concerned with Uncle Ben in this movie but they never really talk about Peter's parents. They only got one mention...in the first film...and never again. Id think that having both your parents dead would have at least some sort of an emotional impact on Peter, I hope they talk about them at least once in SM3, itd be interesting

I've often said this, as well, they should be talked about. Were they actually mentioned in the first film, I don't remember that part, what did they say?

Anyway, it's like Peter Parker was brought to May and Ben by a stork, they really need to acknowledge that the boy came from someone's vagina. :o

I don't think they should be discussed. I mean, what would they say? Peter knows his parents died and I'm sure when he was younger his uncle and his aunt told him all about them. To him, his father was Uncle Ben--he even said that to Green Goblin.

Its clear that Uncle Ben's death had a bigger impact on Peter, thats completely understandable, after all he spent most of his life with him. But Id think that not knowing who your parents were would defenitely affect him in some sort of way, I think Sam could have a mention of them...Maybe when Peter tells Aunt May that he asked MJ to marry her, or perhaps in a conversation with Harry.

Btw Visionary, it wasn't an actual mention of them per say but when Norman told Peter "your parents must be really proud of you" and he says that he lives with his aunt and uncle. Also in the car Peter tells Uncle Ben to stop pretending to be his father

I can't think of any reason they should be mentioned now. Peter's parents are a footnote in th ehistory of Spider-Man, why should the films be any different.

The people who raised you are your parents. A biological link does not a parent make. There is no emotional connection between Peter and his birth paernts, so why would it need to be mentioned in the film? Stan Lee went out of his way to make the biological parents irrelevant, they need no mention whatsoever.

I´m not sure, but wasn´t peters parents spys or something like this???

I could swear that chameleon knew somethig of them

Well i don't the issue is if peter considers his biological parents his parents, but in the case of the green goblin, it was to reinforce the idea of Ben Parker.

Thats one of the things I suggested back in 2001. That the first spidey movie should show his parents being killed while on the job and then Pete being taken to his aunt and uncle.

Pete's parent were government agents but for the sake of keeping things contemporary, I would have like to see them as CIA agents...and his parents weren't mentioned in sm1 at all.

In the novel of the first movie, Richard & Mary Parker are mention quite a bit (And from the look of it it appears that They like in the comics are secret agents working for the USA who were killed in a plan crash .) and that why peter went to live with his Uncle Ben & Aunt May .

Also in the novel peter has a diary that he uses to write the events of his life as a sort of way to talk to his parents .

The parents as agents thing is a story line that really has little or nothing to do with the core character.

Raimi is basing the character of Spider-Man on the foundations in which Stan Lee created, not a footnote from a forgotten story arc.

His parents need no mention all of a sudden in part 3.

I don't think that’s necessary
I mean, how offend, where they ever talked about in comics (it was always just known that he was raised by, his aunt, and uncle, that’s what he knows, that all that matters)
(ya, in later series they had a storyline or two about them, and i think i remember an episode of the cartoon about his parents, being spies or something?)
but, for the movie, i don't see any need to talking about them, it would just be kinda random and pointless
(unless they try to tie in a future villain to him by have him be his parents killer)

didn't aunt may, say something about him being around 6 when MJ moved in next, so, he must of been living there for a while at that point, he was pretty young, when whatever happened to his parents, happened

Maybe they should reveal that in addition to killing Uncle Ben, Sandman is Peter's real father. He killed Ben because he wanted his son back.

I don't think it's the most needed thing in spidey3. these films aren't suppose to go into peter's past but it's more about how peter deals with his everyday problems and struggles of saving people as spider-man and getting to class on time, etc. "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility" is the main factor of the franchise. the comics drove into peter's past from when he was a kid up until present which I find greatly useful. but we have to remember that the films take different turns than the comics did along with keeping strong and important elements from the comic's onto film. it's just that peter's parents aren't what these films are about considering that there wouldn't be enough time to tell all this story of peter parker in the time limit of the film's.

I've wonderd myself where Peter's real parents were in the movies. Are they spies like in the comics or was Pete adopted? It would be nice if this aspect of Parker was explored a little. Doesn't need to be a big subplot just a mention of their whereabouts would suffice.

Lmao! That would be the mother of all twists.lol

I wouldn't be surprised if there was another mention of them in 3,considering he's about to make major transition in life;getting married.

When I say mention Pete's parents I dont mean have them have a huge role or siginificant position in the film but a small mention would be nice.

In other words...no not really

In the novel of the first movie both of Peter's parents Richard & Mary Parker are spies like in The comics .

I don't think anything more than a brief mention is necessary.

In the novel of the first movie both of Peter's parents Richard & Mary Parker are spies like in The comics .

actually the novel implied that it was all a fantasy Peter made up when he was a child to cope with his parents death.

Maybe his parents abandonned him because they never mentionned his parents.

Parker's parents were killed by none other than Voldemort...that is why Pete and Harry are so close, they both know how to "swish and flick"
