What about the ANIMATED Dragonball movie?

Now I for one am disappointed in the movie so much I'd go so far as to say this movie sucked gigantic floppy horse cock...now what about the Animated film? Not being a HUGE fan or follower of the mythology I was basically a fan from years ago when a kid in my school lent me all the vhs tapes and figures he got from Hong Kong (wasnt even in English but i enjoyed the heck outta the shows LoL so awesome the fights were amazing!) and always dreamed of a live action movie......but 20th Century Fox and co failed miserably....even though I'm not a hard core Dragon Ball Z fan this movie blew big time...it made me and my friend extremely angry!

Now what if i watched the animated film would that give me the true experience hard core fans were anticipating with this film or....?

And why is Piccolo bad in this film? I always though he was a good guy?!

And heck while i'm at it...how many Dragonball universes are there? To me it seems there are the same characters but there are like a zillion differnet incarnations? Or am I just mistaken.

Hmm...not sure what you mean or which film your referring to. I personally haven't seen the live action movie yet (I'll consider checking it out on tv in a few years). Anyways there are a bunck of animated films, most of which are non-canon "side story" type deals. You're better off just checking out the series.

He was originally a villain. It's a long story but basically there are two Piccolos. The first was pure evil and was killed. The second was his son, who started off evil and then became good. Both are referred to as "Piccolo" but the former is sometimes called "Evil King Piccolo", "Demon King Piccolo," or in the case of this new film, "Lord Piccolo"

Universes? Em...not sure. There is an alternate timeline in the series (because one story arc involved time travel) but I think other than that there's just the one universe, though I could be forgeting something. As for a "zillion different incarnations"--some characters have the ability to transform. I'd probably confuse you if I tried to explain it so, like I said before, your better off just checking out the series.

Well 1st of all...I think it's great that you loved DBZ. I as a Real Fan dreamd also of a live action film of the franchise all my life. And I have to say... By Fox going back to how it all started was great...so sorry that you didn't like it but you have to remember it started back to Dragonball, then DBZ and DbGT.

So for your request for a Animated Movie...ugh they already did that...DBZ movies 1-13,look it up.

And last but not least...Why is Piccolo bad in this new movie?

Because Lord Piccolo was first haveing the good Piccolo inside him untill he comes out of Lord Piccolo.

Now they may change this and keep the bad Lord Piccolo in this movie dead and bring good Piccolo by himself in the next two movies,as James Masters said. James Masters is playing Piccolo.

First off thank you to those who actually answered my questions

Secondly, I truly dont get this comment above..like it....well, it boggles my mind! I mean I personally dont think this thread 'doesnt belong here'...I not only wanted answers in a timely fashion (Spoiler boards seem to have more activity) as well as a viewpoint from some die hard Dragonball fans hopefully who may have seen both the live action movie and any of the animated films...

I hardly know squat about Dragonball...I just know that WHAT i know i like it and it looks cool and I wanted to know what a fans perspective was who has seen the animated film or films in comparison to the live action film or just their comments...christ man if it bothers you so much LET the thread die off seriously I get the answers im not going to post a thread keeping it alive going "HEY guys thanks for all the answers....so......ummm...whats everyone doing tonight?...What did you haev for supper this evening? Sup Ryo! No I have no idea what Torrents are is that like downloading the shows? I cant do that with my computer its pretty much powered by a gerbil running on a wheel its SOOO brutally slow

And for Wikepedia as far as i know from what im told that site isnt really that truthful is it? I know for a FACT there are a hand full of hard core DB fans that can answer questions and answer them well

Yeah, I can help ya out with that if needed, it's how I got every episode of the original Dragonball. Why not upgrade your stuff?

And, if what you meant by universes, is series, There's Dragonball which follows Goku as a kid until his late teens, Dragon Ball Z, which starts with Goku in his early 20's through having a couple of kids and a granddaughter, and Dragon Ball GT which is not done by the original creator and starts out with Goku older, but he's turned back into a kid again.

the thing is, all the animated Dragonball/Z movies suck in my opinion. And if they just want to make it CGI the hell with a movie give me a revamped series with state of the art CGI, otherwise I'll just watch the animated sequences from Tenkaichi 3

tenkaichi 3 had almost no animated sequences..unless u pressed r3..and even so..they put voices to talk during the fight...there wasn't much to see...but the graphics ruled
