What are the Best Galactus Stories?

I am writing a fake bio of old galactiac (galactus + Braniac) for an amalgam site. Other than his origin what are the most important stories that have been done with the character of Galactus, what comics issue were they in and roughly what happens in the story?

Hey Malus, wasn't the origin of Galactus told in a Thor arc, back when Stan and Jack were still on the title? I had those issues but they're in storage right now at my brother's house. (*makes mental note to get the Masterworks version someday*)

I think it was reprinted in a one shot called "Super-Villains Classics", which I may have boxed up somewhere.

I have actually never had the pleasure of reading those. I knew there was supposedly a very decent Galactus arc in Thor around 1970 or so, but I just never came across those particular issues.

I'm going to try to track them down.

Don't forget "The Trial of Galactus" which occurred sometime during the Byrne run. It was published as a TPB that collected the issues.

The title is misleading in that the event is actually the trial of Reed by an intergalactic tribunal for his part in saving Galactus' life. The main point is that this story establishes Galactus as a cosmic force, beyond the concepts of good and evil.

On a lighter note, check out the Aunt May/Franklin Richards one-off where Aunt May becomes Galactus' herald and rounds up all the Hostess Twinkies in the universe for him. Yup, it was really a Marvel comic...

That's a great story. I'm nostalgic for the Air Walker/Silver Surfer/Galactus arc in FF #120-123, otherwise the Terrax/Reed Saving Galctus story would be my second favorite, next to the Lee/Kirby original.
