What are your feeling towards Hugh Hefner?

I wonder if he is truly happy though.
After what, 40-some, 50 years, he's probably bored with the whole thing. He actually got married and settled for a while. Then he had maybe 7 girls. Now he's down to 3. I wouldn't be suprised if he went back to monogamy sometime soon.

I bet he is laughing his ass off now with, 20 naked chicks, he loves it!

He'd be nothing without his viagra.

Hefner must've been Ghandi in his former life to live the life he has.

Actually, Ghandi was a racist and a bit of a pervert who was quite mean to some of his family members. Not saying he didn't do great things, but he was far from perfect.

He led an enormously sucessful business career, spearheaded a cultural movement that revolutionized American sexual attitudes, and now he lives in a mansion built on the fruits of his hard labor, spending his golden years in luxury.

Even without the naked playmates, I'd be happy to be in his position.

actually his number 1 gal holly said that she's jumped him unexpectedly a few times and he had no problems

Hugh Hefner and I share a birthday. Dennis Quaid, too. (April 9th)

I'm waiting for my invite to the mansion so the three of us can party...

I like him, he seems cool, the house is nice, the grotto is the place I would want to go, wouldn't mind posing in the mag either, classy compared to some others I've seen.

*salutes the Hef*

Well done, sir.

Well i just finished watching hugh hefner E! true hollywood story again and all i can say about it is that Hef was indeed a hard worker and a true gentlemen. He and his empire were attacked for the oddest reasons. The one thing about Hef though is that he will probably never be monogomous ever again. He never truly was. Your thoughts?

Gotta love the man that led the sexual revolution

My feelings of him are mixed... I think he's a brilliant business man who has made an incredible name for himself and really wrote the book on promotions of a brand. I think he's a well-meaning individual who is somewhat naive regarding his accomplishments.

I agree that his spear-heading of the sexual revolution in the 60's was a historic achievement. Thing is, I think we're discovering now that the sexual revolution may have done a lot of damage to society. The free-love style of the 60's has done a great deal in de-valuing the importance and intimacy of sex. It led to the short-attention span, instant gratification view of sex, stripped of it's meaning and specialness. I think it's telling how much the divorce rates have risen following the sexual revolution. People have become more consumed with individual pleasure, than sacrifice and working towards a worthy whole. I think Hugh Hefner is a powerful figure in this. Now, I'm not saying that the harsh puritan beliefs were any better, in fact they were dangerous. I do believe however that the selfishness that's resulted from the sexual revolution is disturbing.

I also have reservations regarding Playboy's use of 18 year old models. Now, I know this applies to all porn or nude modelling, but the mentality of 18 year olds is very lacking in judgment and maturity. I remember when I was 18, and my sister is 18 now and I strongly believe that that age is not yet at a point where the gravity of the decisions and the implications that will follow are properly given attention.

Now, I'm not a religious person, which some of you may have assumed. My views are based on person observations of society and the people around me. Make of my opinion of you want. I just don't believe in buying into the "HEF'S THE PIMP!!! Attitude".

My initial reaction is that if he isn't sharing his wealth/women with me then my interest in his ability to breathe without the aid of machines is minimal

However he did create an empire out of the simplest of ideas and the girls in his mags are shot classy and aren't stuck in some cheap motel with some guy who just wants them to pose pins akimbo for a few trashy shots

What he has done is provided a source of income for hot women with no talent who don't want to do 300 guy ganbangs:o

He probably holds the world record for the most viagra used by a single man.

i think he's become a victim of his own sucess, a living charicature of himself.

i kinda feel sorry for him in some ways, i feel he's still trying to act it out even when he really doesn't want to, forever putting on a show.

^ but that's how just about any celebrity is, especially musicians.

not too the same extremeties...

i'm sure even people in the entertainment industry don't even read him properly...

he's a monster, i can't think of anyone associated with a brand and has the exposure that he's had.

your view has meaning and it's a great opinion. it's ok to feel that way. but again i watched the special and you can't fit the whole blame on hef. that's what everyone did if there was anyone in trouble connected with playboy. not only did hef spear-head the sexual revolution, he was also a big part of the civil rights movement. on his old tv show a lot of the first african americans on tv were on that show. a lot of the first african american models posed for his magazine. if any of his colleagues(sp) or cover girls were in any sort of trouble he'd help them. that's what i found so interesting, and then it made me think i wish everyone could see this because i know a lot of people that have a different opinion on hef by what they see in the news or hear from other people. playboy is classy.

The sexual revolution hasn't been damaging from a female perspective, who were being marginalized and culturally opressed. It might seem absurd if you're just looking at the bunnies and thinking objectification, but there's a bigger overall picture with the effects of the sexual revolution in general.

Not a claim. It's a fact. He really really hated black people. At least in his younger years. When he lived in South Africa, he printed a newsletter that basically was "black people suck ass" in four different languages. He was even partially responsible for the Aparthied syestem in South Africa.

Hopefully that means he isn't anymore. :o

And Hugh seems like a cool cat; not because he's a multi-millionare old dude who still gets chicks, but because he seems like a genuine good guy, from what I've seen of him, anyway.

Penn & Teller did an episode called Holier Than Thou, which poked holes in Ganhi, Mother Theresa, & the Dali Lama.

Here's a clip of the episode & cites

http://www.sho.com/site/ptbs/prevepisodes.do?episodeid=s3/htt

Then again lots of people that are revered had major flaws....

MLK slept around a lot
Lincoln held plenty of racist views
Jefferson slept around with his slaves while espousing liberty

Penn & Teller weren't picking on Ghandi or the others, but illustrated that guess what not even the Saints were saints.
