I just what to start off by saying this is not a bash Michael Bay thread.
In all honesty give the man a good script and I think he would be gold on a Iron Man movie.

Give him someone no one cares about, Cable.

He would make Cable into a household name and make people care about him. Bay puts asses in seats.

Not really, th eonly thing that really puts asses into seats from his movies have been the stars and the subject matter; sometimes the visuals.

I disagree. He and James Cameron do something to make people come watch their movies in droves.

while i am weary of bay, but he is a god VISUAL director. the guy just needs a good script. and yeah, he does put asses in seats, he's one of the few directors that is a household name.

I honestly almost said her, but I like her too much for Bay to have a shot at her. :o

Do the Wonder Twins have any fans?

Give him the Wonder Twins.

With a good script and a good cast, Michael Bay's visual panache can work great for a Green Lantern film. The man's not a bad director by any means, and films like the first Bad Boys and The Rock are proof that he can give audiences a story with characters worth a damn.

Green Lantern. Hal Jordan is a United States Air Force pilot, has a hot southern pilot girlfriend and also happens to be an space cop.

It's totally Bay material.

I remember back in the day when WB was after Bay pretty hard to direct Superman. He was their top choice but he just wasn't interested. Funny thing is, his Superman probably would have been hated by the fans but it would have been a huge commercial hit and the public would have ate it up.

The Hulk.

Basically just like Transformers, but it's a big green monster instead of robots. It would totally own.

I just watched Letterman and saw Patrick Dempsey on there promoting Transformers. He had a very Tony-Stark-look to him.

Patrick Dempsey worked with Bay.
Patrick Dempsey looks like a good Tony Stark.
Patrick Dempsey as Iron Man, directed by Michael Bay, please.

:awesome:

Green Lantern sequel. It would bring people in and give the movie the epic feel it deserves.

And ****ing Baysplosions. :o

^same here bad boy s 2 was on the other night that movie is still hilarious lol

If he was to tackle one, it would almost have to be a rather weak, shallow character so it could gel with Bay's sensibilities as a director.

In any case, I wouldn't be interested in it.

Agree with GREEN LANTERN, it really seems to fit classic Bay. That would have been awesome. I can def. see it having the same tone as The Rock and Bad Boys.

He should do a Rob Liefield comic. Youngblood, Bloodstrike, Blood Wulf, Bloody McBlooderson, etc. Michael Bay is practically the Rob Liefield of cinema anyway.

Thats a insult to Michael Bay. Michael can make good films. Rob is just horrible.

Bay knows his limitations. He can do great CGI and non-CGI action sequences that look like a million bucks (usually because they're more than that ;) ), he can objectify attractive women and he can do low brow comedy. The one time he tried to leave his box, Pearl Harbor, ended with bad reviews and an underperforming box office after OW. He has been wise to stay in it since.

Now, many comic book films have shot for what Bay does and missed the mark because their directors lack his vision for action (Brett Ratner and Tim Story come to mind). However, I think Marvel has played it smart by getting outside-the-box directors for the most part. Favreau, Branagh, Whedon and now Black. Get directors who can make great movies without big budgets or CGI. Then see what they can do with that extra muscle. Nolan, Raimi and Singer also fall under this category.

Lastly, only a few directors can sell a movie. Spielberg, Cameron, Scorsese (for his audience), Tarantino (for his audience) are the only ones who almost always guarantee that right now. Bay casts big movie stars or big brand names in his movies (Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, Liv Tyler, Nicholas Cage, Sean Connery, Transformers, etc.). The one time he did it without movie star brand names (though it had well known actors) was The Island and that flopped. It's unclear whether his name sells a lot of tickets or not.

Ha. I was totaly going to say that. Thats why he could make a great Cable movie. Giant Guns, Bigger explosions and messy incoherent plot about time travel. It would be glorious.

I'm telling you all, think about this:

MICHAEL BAY'S
"SPACEGHOST"

People don't go to see his movies because of the stars but because of the special effects.
