Iron Man What Didn't You Like?

yeah i know also have a problem with tony going public. how long did it take him to tell the world that eh is iron man in the comics?

because in the movie this was less then a week.

i can't think of one thing that i didn't like . it would of been cool if they mentioned other superheroes by name . i think people that saw this not knowing what shield is walked away with a different experience and compare it to transformers.

I loved pretty much all of it; maybe Paltrow could have delivered some lines a bit better...she was a bit mundane in places, but nothing that really bothered me that much. I would have liked a longer final battle.

yes the suit didn't resemble the comics much...

RDJ's performance left much to be desired for and the film had far too much action

Um the suit was almost exactly like granov's current run and was amazingly spot on, and honestly I would say there was too little action. That is my only complaint.

yeah :whatever:

Just got back from my third showing.

The only scene I really had a problem with is when Pepper is running from Stane after he gets in the suit. When he leaps at the door and stretches his arm towards her, it just didn't look good at all.

I didn't like that the movie ended, and I have to wait another 2 years for the next film. Other than that, I've seen it twice, and will probably see a a few times more...it was the best genre film since Spider-Man, imho!

Cool thing about Iron Man is that with Downey in the starring role, Stark is interesting in or out of the suit. Every superhero can't pull that off. After a couple views, I tire of watching Tobey Maguire mope around and everyone knows the best part about Bruce Wayne is that he's batman. (Which Begins didn't give us a lot of) Anyway, Tony Stark entertained me throughout the film, I liked hanging out with him, and I'm going back to see it again.

P.S.

Looks like the Mark III beat the Mach 5 at the box office. :hehe:

I feel bad cause the wachowski brothers are great film makers. The whole Speed Racer team must be taking this defeat pretty hard.

That fanboys intentionally created a thread to ***** about a movie they enjoyed and will use any and all nitpicks here to slowly cause them to dislike and eventually hate the movie when after MANY reviewings of it on DVD and discovering it doesn't hold the same surprises and magic it had that first screening in theaters opening night months/years earlier.

(See boards for X-Men, Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 for reference).

ok i guess i'll break it down for you . there are people out there that don't get any of the comic references . some thought iron man was initially a cartoon . the group of people next to me were comparing it to transformers.

Gwenyth Paltrow's acting at the end bugged me a bit.

Just the music really. And it's not like it was bad music, it just wasn't memorable.

and the village he went to protect is where Yinsen was from if some of you didn't realize. I think that sort of sped up his motives towards becoming a "superhero".

I mean Bruce becoming Batman in Begins is so long and so involving that the movie actually sort of loses steam once he actually becomes Batman. I like the first half of that movie better.

frigging general audience... they can suck the wet end of a rope...
they like it anyways, bringing in the money, proof that the movie is pretty effective... the fanboy in me just gets really annoyed by stuff like this... Today I saw it for the second time, a big geek like me made his friends stay after the credits, and the girls with him had nothing more to say then... uh, so why is it that we waited? THE AVENGERS INITIATIVE *****... Sam ****ing Jackson as Fury....

Anyways, can't think of anything I didn't like, found it weird Stane had the key to a device he obviously didn't make.

Just reading some of the grips and man you guys a way to picky. someone was compaling about the technology being to advanced???? Whatever, it's not even worth a response. I just think as much tech that the james bond film's had that was to ahead of it's time and i've never heard a complain, but IM now is to advanced in some areas? To nit picky.

My only real fanboy gripe with the movie was Jarvis being Tony's AI, rather than a human butler. I would have preferred if they'd just used HOMER, Tony's AI attendant from the 90's cartoon, who played essentially the same role as Jarvis in the film. But Jarvis is effective in the film.

I didn't buy Leslie Bibb as a newswoman.

I didn't like that, after Yinsen dies, Tony never mentions him again.

I liked the AI better. We already had the personal assistant in Pepper.

Leslie Bibb was not a newswoman, she was with Vanity Fair. lol. I know tons of cute blondes in my journalism college.

I agree with the Yinsen thing.

yeah terence howard, great actor, but too soft spoken for jim rhodes.i would've picked the father from "everybody hates chris"..his name escapes me.

It came to an end. :csad:

....But on such a high note! :woot:
Yep...that's my one complaint.

They could have made slight improvements....but why complain about a movie this good? I've never seen any other comic book movie do it as well....so they did the best job so far.

the fact that it took marvel so long to make their own films...now we have a bunch of crappy marvel films made by money grubbing, untalented movie studios...at least we have the first couple x-men and spider-man films...:(

I wish they started sooner...
You win.

I have enough complaints about the film, but a more soft spoken Jim Rhodes isn't one of them. Comic Rhodey could at times be very unlikable...
