Iron Man What Didn't You Like?

What I didn't like:

RDJ was Tony Stark till when he returned back from being captive. Then he became comedic RDJ not Stark

Did not like the tone of the film. Was COMPLETELY wrong for Iron Man

Terrence Howard under-used(as someone said)

Final Battle did not grab my attention at all

Film took no real risks and was far too safe and simplistic

Tony Stark should have been fleshed out more at the beginning. Did not feel any sense of tranformation from him

Oh yeah...and the movie is over-rated because everything else sucks.

I liked the AI better. We already had the personal assistant in Pepper.
True, but I believe I said they should have used HOMER as the AI instead of Jarvis, so as Jarvis could appear in the flesh in the Avengers spin-off movie.
Leslie Bibb was not a newswoman, she was with Vanity Fair. lol. I know tons of cute blondes in my journalism college.
Fair enough.

Really?
I'll try to contact him then and ask him to make me a Mark3 suit like the one he built for himself in the movie.

Why don't you go back to the Batman forums and meditate some more about Joker being bleached or not in the new movie?
hehe.

My only problem with the movie was that in the end everyone knows that Stark is Iron Man.

I as a little confused by the AI Jarvis, hoping that he would show up in flesh in a lter MArvel film (IM2 or the Avengers), but just becuase Tony had a AI version of him, doesn't mean there isn't a real one out there somewhere- possibly a former employee, so good that Tony had to make a fake one after he left?

I don't mind the world knowing Tony's big secret- it made for a good cliff hanger and is a interesting parallel to the Civil War events, which I'm sure will probably come into play in some Marvel flick down the line

I didn't mind the comedic Tony, he's a billionaire smart-ass drunk...I'm pretty sure his whole life is a comedy of sorts

I was thinking the same thing.

Would you want to see Paul Bettany as a live action Jarvis, or would you rather they get someone else?

well, I love Paul Bettany (so good in Secret Life of Bees and Reckoning) and I think he's super hot ...anyone else? No? anyway, I think he's a great choice for Jarvis and I'd love to see him come back.
IMO, he'd be awesome as any number of Marvel characters, and hopefully now that he's got his foot in the door, we will see him again in some capacity.

Of course, if he made a cameo in a Hulk movie, or a movie with the Hulk in it, that'd be kind of like cheating on his wife,.

Even though he doesn't look like Jarvis in the comics (slightly stocky middle-aged bald guy vs. skinny thirtysomething blonde), he's a good actor and I don't think I'd mind seeing him as the movie version of Jarvis.

I didn't like the acting from the chick, I forget her name.

I didn't even know that was Bettany's voice. However, I am okay with the AI Jarvis, but why did Stark named it Jarvis. I wonder if that would be explained in the sequel.

I loved this movie to be perfectly honest. I went and saw it last night- yeah three weeks late- and loved it.

I felt that it was funny in the right places, Tony Stark was a great character to get behind. He was a dick, he was arrogant and he was cocky....BUT you could see that he was changed and deeply conflicted when he found out just what his company had become. If people weren't steeped in the mythos they wouldn't know that that Stain was going to become the real threat- when he showed up at the meeting in Afghanistan my girlfriend was completely surprised that he was the villain.

Tonally- I don't see the problem. One of my friends turned to me right after the amazing opening sequence which ended with him as a captive with the insurgents an the title "Iron Man" and said, "I thought this was a comic book thing?"...she had no idea...and that's a good thing. It felt real. Just because Downey took the arrogance of the character of Stark and ran with it didn't ruin the tone of the film.

Iron Man killed bad guys. He killed about four at one single time. It was funny at time, the dogfight had some appropriate laughs in it "well technically he hit me" or "Rodey...it's ME".

The final battle looked amazing- but could have been a little better- but the action leading up to it was all awesome. Pepper was great. The nods to the fans were all awesome. I loved the delivery and set up of "Just call us, S.H.I.E.L.D." it was set up very well throughout the film. I loved the nod to War Machine, when Rhodes looks over at the Mark II and says "Next time baby"...all GREAT stuff.

The plot was great- the motivation for Stark was shown greatly. His relationship with his cellmate was executed greatly...it was just all great stuff.

My one main complaint was that the after credit scene should have just taken place in the actual film- or after about a minute of credits..because that too was amazing.

Plus having Stark admit to being Iron Man was awesome as well.

I loved this film. It ranks- in my top 10 comic book films---after more viewings it might be in my top 5- at least until I see The Dark Knight.

1.) Batman Begins
2.) Spider-man 2
3.) Spider-man
4.) X2: X-men United
5.) Superman: The Movie
6.) Iron Man
7.) X-men
8.) Batman
9.) Superman Returns
10.) Spider-man 3

loved this film.

It's really hard for me to find something I didn't like. I didn't really see any need for Leslie Bibb's character. She was very attractive, but that's about it.

Wow, have you even read an Iron Man comic? Remember Iron Man isn't Batman.

Well, it's nothing that I didn't like per se, but I would've liked to hear more of Tony talking in the suit. Well, at least hearing him talk through the suit.
