What does everyone think of it? Personally, I think it's a pretty solid list, even it is in all honesty no different that most other lists that rank great films. I do have few complaints though. For starters, I think some films (Goodfellas, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Forrest Gump, The Sting, Almost Famous (which I have a bit of bias towards since it's my favorite movie) should have been ranked a little higher. I also think that certain films (The Matrix, Batman Begins) are way too high, and the list lacks many great films that deserve to be on there (Rocky, Dirty Harry)

Overall, though, I don't think that it's that bad a list. What is your opinion?

The list isn't like my 250 list.

It's not terrible. However, it is a bit skewed. The people who tend to register to vote for that sort of list are not a cross-section of the general moviegoing public. That's why a lot of comic book and sci fi movies are ranked higher than they should be.
Overall, it's good. Much better than one would think, anyway.

That's prety much my feelings. I like to think of it as more of a populairty list than a true list of the most quality films ever made.

It's different than mine, too. I made a top 100 and it looks vastly different then mine.

I like it. Maybe, we can desagree in the order, and the lack of some good movies. But in general, its a very good list with almost all the great movies and classics.

maybe i missed them...but i didn't see once upon a time in china, or battle royale... both amazing movies

Great list, but putting Lord of the Rings over Raiders of the Lost Ark is sacrilige
And LOTR should not be higher than Empire Strikes Back

People take it way too seriously, like it is an incredibly important list.
It is not.

Ignoring the order in which the movies are listed (some movies are ranked way too high, while others are way too low), it's one of the best and most complete lists you can find anywhere.

If they dont have American Beauty in TOP10, they are morons! :down

LOTR shouldn't be so high on the list...especially higher than "To Kill a Mockingbird", "City of God" and "The Usual Suspects".

I really like it, myself. People can debate the placement of films all they want, but most (if not all) of the movies on the list should be there. And even with the placement, I find I disagree with it no more than I disagree with AFI's or any other list.

I actually think the list is pretty good. I like the fact that it includes a lot of great films that don't usually appear in many "best movie" lists because its in a certain genre (ex. Spider-man, Finding Nemo, Kill Bill). But I also think it is flawed. As well as any list that doesn't include Gone With The Wind in the top 10 greatest films of all time.

Just like any other list like this..its just an opinion....IF I made a list it would look completely different than that one just as it would be different than anyones on this board.

Good list. I agree with some of it for the most part.

Its good but the order of the films is not very good for my taste.

I like it 'cause it's voted by users not by some "experts" and it's living all the time. There are some movies which shouldn't be there, imo, but I still like it.

Sin City is above Batman Begins?? AND!! above Jaws??!!! Yeah right, the creator of this list is a moron for sure.

They should be higher.

Of course, most of what's there shouldn't be period.

The Godfather films are obscenely overrated.

You've lost your credibility with that last statement.

I agree that LOTR should be much lower. I like the films and all (well, I've only seen the first one), but come on, they haven't had the impact that many of those other films have had.

Like I said, I have my own Top 100 that is vastly different from IMDB's rankings of those movies.

Haha, my dad's in a movie on the top 250 list. That's awesome.

The waiter at the end of The Killing Fields. :o
