What genres and game types do you want/not want to see make a resurgence next gen?

Also, I'd like to see the potential of episodic releases fully realised. The Walking Dead was definitely a step in the right direction, but how about other genres that deliver compelling content in weekly steps? I really like the idea of some brave developer starting off this next generation with one game and keeping it going for the next five to six years with weekly/monthly episodes.

Yuuup, I'm really looking forward to Company of Heroes 2.



The only time I hate them is when the actions on screen are things that are entirely possible for the player to do.

There's seriously NO game at all out there except for the first 3 Crash Bandicoot games that I've had so much fun with as BFME and BFME2. Pretty imbalanced unless you download a balancing mod. Especially BFME is awesome! Felt so original, epic, great and everything one would want. I haven't seen any game as exciting as those in years.

I really like this idea. However, there's one big problem.

With such a huge time given to the game, I guess that would require the player to pay for every episode.

What if it ends up like LOST? Starts great but never ends and eventually ends up in such a disappointment that you feel you've been fooled all the time. That would suck big time!

Yeah, there'd be a sea of issues like that to resolve before you even start to think about making such a project.
