Everyone who reads comics goes through a stage (or several) where they get out of comics for one reason or another then something pulls them back into reading again...so whats it been for you guys? What has been your reason(s) for getting out of/back into comics and how many times?

I've never gotten 'out' of comics. I started collecting comic cards and books when I was like 7, and I haven't stopped since (I'm 21 now :D)

First 'into'= Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog way back when

First 'out of'= the Spidey Clone Saga :(

First and thus far only 'back into'= Kingdom Come (like, 5 years after it came out)

Got into comics about 2 years ago now out of boredom.

Research to learn how to write comics.

I never got out since I started six years ago.

Spider-Man the movie brought me in, I had a short 'out of' stage for about a year because of funds, but I eventually came back.

Boredom got me back in.
Stayed in hotels for a few years, I needed to find a hobby. I decided to get back into comics.

What got me into comics? Its porn, fighting, friendship, betrayl, and TV all rolled into 1!

The first X-Men movie got me back into comics, I can't remember why I got out though. I think I just lost interest for a while.

I stopped reading a little while after No Man's Land, due to disinterest.

I still picked up an occasional trade and kept up with major story lines via the internet, but I didn't start making the weekly trip to the LCS again until Infinite Crisis started to kick up. Crisises make me all tingly.

I haven't been this excited for comics since I was 5.

I originally got into them because it pissed my father off that I enjoyed American literature. Then it faded, then I found out I really liked them after all.

I got out of comics when I started to find that the comics were really churning out villians that did not really interest me. Like there was this period spidey was battling kinda ridiculous villians that were funnier rather sinister.

But then after I grew older I hit the indie rack of the comic book stores and it really turned me on to comics again. Comics like The Crow and Strangers in Paradise. I really also appreciated the fact that the kind of artwork I saw on the cover was the similar kind of artwork I was to find in the comic book. I really love the cinematic quality and that alot of composition though was put into each frame. Also there was alot of experimentation with the layouts, some didn't work but those that did really paid off because they were so beautiful to look at.

Its great the variety out there.

When I went to see Spider-Man at my local theatre, it was giving out the first issue of Ultimate Spider-Man to go along with the movie. I read it and loved it, and that's what pushed me into the wonderful world of comics.

As a kid, I was never actually into comics, but I was VERY much into Batman, and the Batman movies. And obviously, after B&R, my interest was pretty gone, I got into Star Wars instead, and other things.

Then, after hearing random rumors that never materialized for years, I finally found out BB was happening in early '04, so I started digging around on the internet for it, found Batman-On-Film, found the Hype, and just from posting at the Hype, I found comics, and really got a desire to read them and really get into them.
