I think I lost track somewhere, what happened to the Joker?

He got shot through the head, got ressurected when did this happen en is it still in cont? What hapenend to the bullet wound?
Lost his face and is he now trying to get it back?

Got surgery after getting shot & was locked up in Arkham.

Was freed by the Black Glove who he eventually went up against.

Adopted the identity of Oberon Sexton when Dick Grayson was Batman.

Went back to The Joker once Bruce came back from his travels in time.

Had his face cut off.

"Re-attached" his face with belts and hooks and came back to Gotham to destroy the bat family's morale.

Confronted Batman in the entrance to the Batcave and fell into the abyss.

Hasn't been seen since.

Morrison's early run is no longer in continuity with the regular DC books. All that's happened with Joker is Dollmaker cut his face off, Death of the Family, and nothing.

Morrison's early run is what brought Damian into the fold. Of course it's canon.

Yeah, Morrison's Bat-stuff is all canon

Parts of it are.

New 52 revisions retconned large sections of it.

Did they though? Did they really? All of Batman Inc. is canon. We've seen that Bruce shot Darkseid and was trapped in time. Damian exists. Dick has been Batman. I would say, like all of Joker's injuries, the bullet to the head simply got better.

I had a thread on here years ago where I tried to compile all of Joker's injuries. I should find it.

Yeah all that's changed is Stephanie Brown not being Batgirl.

Snyder said that after Endgame he will be bringing the Joker back. Death of the Family was about the Joker's love for Batman and the next arc will be about his hatred.

The Joker is a character that can be liberally resurrected. There's just so much media out there about Batman now that people are eager for story-branching creativity.

Maybe Joker started falling into the abyss, but found a ditch-wall groove on which he sunk his fingers into and hung onto for dear life, climbed out and...

------

It would be economical to reorient all this Batman hype by reaffirming the strength and value of his main nemeses.

Recent Hollywood (USA) films have given much spotlight to Batman villains such as the Riddler and Scarecrow, but in many ways, the Joker stands as Batman's most annoying enemy.

Think about it. Batman himself is psychologically troubled (by the death of his parents). Batman is a vigilante who believes street justice can soothe his frustrations of a crime-ridden Gotham City.

The Joker is the perfect foil to Batman. While Batman thinks crime warrants serious contemplation, the Joker believes that crime evokes human feelings of anarchy and mayhem allure. Batman thinks crime is horrifying, while the Joker thinks crime is fun.

Maybe the Joker represents basic criminality euphoria, so I'd like to see a comic book storyboard involving his ability to keep returning from the dead to harass Gotham City.

I'd also like to see a bright child actor in "Gotham" (Fox TV) portraying a young Jack Napier (future Joker).

It turns out that Endgame is the return of The Joker.

Im just going to start collecting the entire works of Snyder on batman...
He has done some Superman as well..hope thats good too.

So, what was the story with his face, exactly?

He's only smiling skindeep, from within he's just really really sad. : (

I kinda feel for him you know.

That was really out of character....

On the bright side he has his face back!

Was it out of character? I don't feel it was in the context of The Killing Joke, especially with what he does next.

No I'm sorry. J. would never say that.

Well then again maybe he would but only to Batman. If you like believe that Joker actually 'loves' Batman.

I like to view the Batman Joker relation as two sides of a coin, or that Batman is wat drives the Joker to commit his crimes. I'm confident that if Batman would ever retire so would the Joker. He does almost all what he does just to get under Bat's skin.

Or Joker might just have a really bad day...

It was never explained. Snyder simply left everybody hanging.

As I posted in the Batman thread, this is what Snyder said in an interview regarding Jokers face situation and us learning more about it and how he has a face again.

Snyder: Yes, you'll learn. There will be different possibilities. But there will be one that really sticks out as, this is probably why that happened. Yeah.

It was good to see him with his normal face again.

So what happened now?

He got shot, got ressurected and had surgery, went Oberon Sexton on us, again got surgery but now to remove his face, took over another man's body (and looks the same) and now he's immortal?

What's next "Going Sane!".....o wait LOTDK 65...
