what he hell is up with music these days?

I still can't believe how or why we got to this point in music...especially in rap and hip hop...back when puffy had a new song every week i despised it...but i'll now admit i'd rather listen to that crap over any of the $#!t on the radio or tv these days.

There's no Jesus Christ in the music, that's the problem. Too much sex, not enough class and dignity.

Music these days isn't as sincere as it was in the 70's, 80's, or early 90's for that matter. More or less it's all about the look instead of it being about talent and musicianship.

The only current bands I listen to these days are Coheed and Cambria, Alter Bridge, Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, A Perfect Circle, God Forbid, Still Remains, and In This Moment. Majority of those bands receive little to no airplay on radio or any music television station, unless it's on sirius radio with Hard Attack or Octane.

But as I said, music these days is more or less about the look and not about the actual message or talent. Majority of the bands I listen to are from the 70's, 80's, or early 90's anyways. You just can't beat Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, Journey, Iron Maiden, Rush, Yes, King Crimson, Elton John, Heart, Queensryche, Queen, Judas Priest, W.A.S.P., Nine Inch Nails, Tool, The Carpenters, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Boston, Genesis, The Doobie Brothers, Mercyful Fate, and etc....

Well said. Music today's mostly filled with soulless, superficial, talentless garbage.

However I still have hope in that the few seriously talented artists out there will find an audience who really feel the music like it was just meant to be, beatles style, and are not just jumping on a sexy back fad song.

I find that the best musicians out there aren't the teeny boppers puppets on the strings of some corporation, but the ones who actually enjoy singing, enjoy making music, and do it out of a deeply felt passion. God, i hope we can get more musicians like them in the future.

That Umbrella song is crap. But that music video was pretty awesome. Which is the trend in today's music. Song Crap, Video pretty good.

OMG YEAH I t0ta11y listen to AC/DC, Guns & Roses, Black Sabbath, etc. talk about crap :o

The goats of Odin will rise up and steal the blood of a 100 virgins and pour it over indy bands.

You're a moron. Those bands were made up of accomplished musicians. Their songs were essentially pointless, but they were kickass musicians and Bon, Ozzy, Brian and Axl have more charisma and singing ability than most of the whiny emo *****es out there, and were good songwriters.

who said I listened to EMO?

oh god. you cant be serious.

Partially, yes. I would add a few more bands in there like Metallica, & Led, but these bands paved the way for what underground rock is today.

If you don't have Appetite For Destruction, The Black Album, Master Of Puppets, Black Sabbath, Or All of Bon Scott's stuff in your collection. You really can't claim to be a rocker.

Check These Viddy's, & Tell me they suck!
AC/DC:

...well how can you say that? people don't always have to be living in the past. I'm down with Led Zepellin though.

who said I listened to EMO?

I didn't. But the fact that you dissed all those bands seriously has me questioning your taste in music. Those bands helped define heavy metal and created some of the greatest rock songs and albums ever.

Your sig is awesome, though.

Its not about living in the past. Its about having the the albums that paved the way. Bands of the present wouldn't be around if it wasn't for these bands.

I agree. She can party every so often, but she should keep her head.
