What Hugh said about the rating

nooooo hugh, forget the little kids, we need an R rating!!!

Yah forget the kids, they'll sneak in any ways with there parents. Give us an R-Rating film, please.

PG-13 can be very gritty, very violent. Really the only difference between PG-13 is sexuality and profanity. And really, do we need boobies and f-bombs in a Wolverine movie?

Great point...As long as the tone is dark...even if theres not much visual violence, a little implied violence would be fine...Though i still wanna see people bleed after Wolvie stabs them. A movie can still be pg-13 and still have the kind of dark, disturbed tone needed for a Wolverine movie.

R would be nice, but I won't be angry if it isn't R rated.

bah it's good enough...as long as Halle makes a cameo

The rating doesn't bother me as long as it isn't geared solely towards kids. I'm just happy that Hugh is so in to the character and he really wants to make it good.

Whoops. Dunno what happened there. If an admin coud be so kind as to delete the duplicates? :)

A hard PG-13 would be fine for Wolverine. I dont think they'd ever let him go R rated. Just let him a bit hardier/edgier in his own franchise and he can be lighter in the X movies...

Its the same thing i hear people saying about Ghost Rider and Batman; make it R Rated. Firstly the studios are never going to do that since they're investing tons of money in to these movies which they'd like to make back. And secondly you're going to alienate a lot of young potential fans if you make it R Rated.

Don't get wrong an R Rated Wolverine would probably be awesome but i just don't see it happening.

it feels like we'll see the same old "Logan slices everyone, kills everyone, mutilates everyone, but no drop of blood is taken" :p

I wouldn't mind that at all.

Aslong as it's as intense and violent as X2 (when all the troops overun the mansion) I'll be fine. That managed to be a 12, so I can't see why this can't be either.

Exactly...look at "Batman Begins" (which I was just watching on HBO about 10 minutes ago). That was PG-13 and it wasn't a kids movie at all.

I don't think so many little kids are into the X-Men movies anyway--at least my cousins and my friends' kids, the oldest of which is 7, don't watch them or aren't allowed to. They like Spiderman. :spidey:

The R-rating would keep a lot of teens out of the theater, which is box office suicide. I think they can do a decent movie and still keep it PG-13.

Also check out the Christian Bale interview on that site. He was asked the same thing about an R-rated Batman sequel and gave basically the same answer. :)

Due to the Wolverine I know I haven't seen that yet, besides the whole no blood thing. Im tired the goreless crap!

You sound like most of the Wolvy haters, truth is Xmen wouldn't sell as well without him so they used him a little more than they had too. I admit so, but with his movie I wanna see more and so does everyone else. I wanna see a Wolverine who cares for no one but himself and his girl and has a slang to his voice. I wannna see a Logan who is human but still overcome by animal instincts.

I know Wolverine owned the Xmen trilogy but how else would it sell? Truthfully, the movies would be all DareDevil without Logan. He makes, and is written, to make the X universe rotate. Well atleast on the big screen.

i have seen many pg-13 movies that have been gritty and have edge. and it sounds like hugh wants to have edge. it could still look great with a below R rating.

Just put an R-Rated or unrated cut on the DVD and everyones happy.

If that's what it comes to be then I'll deal with it. You're probably right but I hope it's R.

In my dreams I wanted a R movie, but I knew it would never happen... :(
But then, like many said, a PG-13 movie can still be dark and gritty, so I´m counting on Wolverine not being a kiddies´movie only because it won´t be R.

As an exampple, I'm seeing The Prestige described as a film for adults despite a PG-13 rating . From what I've read, it's definitely not a nice, cosy tale for children.

^That´s a good example. The Prestige certainly isn´t a movie for children.

No, but it wouldn't hurt:woot: It had better be bloody.

IT HAS TO BE R RATED, a wolverine movie rated r would be so much better because it would make the character look way darker and more of a badass.

If they do a pg 13 rating then it will just be the same as the wolverine from the x men films which was good but this movie should be different from that trilogy.

Wolverine's claws should be bloody. :cmad:

Shoot it like it's gonna be R then cut it to PG-13 and then release the R-Rated cut on DVD. Everyone's happy.

(EDIT: BT18 said this already. :S)
