Pardon my English...

SPOILERS...

After seeing Singer's SR with several deliberate changes to Supes' mythology (Superman has a son, an emo Supes spying Lois' house, the silly New Krypton plan by Lex, Superman selfishly abandoning earth, etc. etc.) and then compare it to the aborted J.J. Abrams' script (Lex revealed to be Kryptonian, Krypton didn't explode, etc etc)... now which one do you thing is more shocking and worst?

Almost every fan screamed in disagreement when they read about J.J. Abrams' leaked script on AICN. Wouldn't it be the same reaction toward Harris/ Dougherty's script if it got leaked before WB actually proceed with it?

Singer closely guarded the script, maybe because he knew if it got leaked it might got major backlash from fans, thus maybe prompting WB from proceeding with his script, just like what happened to Abrams'

You are joking right? How can you even compare the scripts, yes i think fans wouldnt have been happy with an emo supes but apart from that and the kid the story wasnt that far out.

i dont think the same reaction..because H/D script made more sense..proly an uproar bout jason..but still made more sense than abrams..wit that said...im glad they didnt go abrams route..matrix-like superman..but i still think he's a good writer/director..having did mi-3 which is a good movie on its own..and lost tv show.

thanks, i think action-wise, Abrams' would be more a crowd pleaser since he featured another superpowered adversaries for Superman

How many superpowered adversaries did batman and robin have was that a crowd pleaser?

well, don't you find it exciting to see Superman up against another superpowered being in a big destructive fights, especially using today computer technology and stuffs? Batman can play detective or fights thugs, goons or any other madmen, he doesn't need superpowered villains and i don't expect to see that from him either

I liked the Abrams' script, and i likely would've liked the Singer one as well. I can't say the fanbase would have the same reaction. They're not fans of change.

Martha and Lara raped? Krypton alive? Jor-El commiting suicide to turn into a ghost? a Supersuit in a can? Clark growing up with Lois in Smallville? Lex Luthor is from Krypton? ............

I cant believe were actually having this discussion....

Good call! If there's one thing that Schumacher (and Ratner) taught us it's that superpowered characters and tons of action alone will not make a good film.

While Singer might have tinkered with Superman, Abrams just plain urinated all over the characters. Peters actually insinuated as much (in a far more articulate fashion ;) )

I dont disagree that having supes punch someone who can actually take it is a bad thing but i just dont believe that makes the film a great film, on the other hand in the comics that works great but on film if not done right might suck. Superman1(No superpowered villian)>>>>>>> Superman2(Superpowered villian)

oh and I DONT WANNA see another Harris and Doughtery movie... let them stick to there X men.... id like to some fans pull a movie script together... i will say this for as much as they paid to make this movie ti could have been done with half the budget in my eyes...

My biggest issues with Abrams' script were Krypton's survival and the revelation that Lex was Kryptonian.

That being said, I think I might have actually preferred this project to what was produced. At least it would have felt fresh and new... a fresh, dynamic new Superman franchise for the 21st century, instead of one doomed to forever dwell on an old, outmoded approach.

What would the reaction have been had Singer's script been leaked? Well, we got most of the details in dribs and drabs, which alllowed people to absorb the contentious issues gradually and slowly adjust to them... There was an awful lot of self-deception as a series of bitter pills were swallowed.

Had it all been laid out in a oner the way you just presented it I imagine there might have been a backlash just as great against Singer's plans.

It's just a pity the Abrams script was ever leaked.

lex being kryptonian? hahaha

i cant hate singer's involvement with the kid because superman 2 had superman and lois sleeping together and clark turning into a human so the movies already screwed up comicwise.

He didn't have to compound the problem by introducing the kid, though, did he?

In fact, he didn't have to touch upon the previous Superman films at all. He could have created entirely his own movie if his interest in Superman actually extended beyond Donner's work.

Could people stop throwing around the word emo like it's a two dollar hooker. It is losing it's meaning.

seruiously i feel the sameway... honestly its only 15-20 yrs word..... makes them sound ****ing Stupid, i cry for the new gen seriously cry babys!

You couldn't just jump in to Supes duking it out with Doomsday, you have to re-establish who he is. That it is incredible, nay,...super, that he does what he does. As bad as Abrams messed with the mythology, it was the mistake of jumping right in that the script screwed up worst.

Suit in a can was maybe worse, though.

with $250 mil. budget it could have been done right. Adding layer and drama to the story is good, but when it got too much it became boring, i'm not sure i can sit through that last act again
