What is a good college for someone who is planning to major in architecture and has a GPA between 3.1 and 3.5?
It's a simple question and I am hoping for some Hypsters to fill me in.
I'm considering architecture being my major and I need some input.

Georgia Tech, etc.???

Thanks.

Do you wanna stay in state?
And are you transfering?

MIT is the best arhitecture school in the world.

You don't have the GPA to get in now, but if you go to a good arhitecture school for a semester or a year, you may be able to transfer in.

I'm gonna have to go ahead and plug my own college, the Savannah College of Art and Design You have the right kind of GPA for the school, and it's in Georgia (obviously), which I'm guessing you live in based on Georgia State beign one fo your ideas. One of my room mates is an Architecture major and he really likes the program.

There's this amazing new search engine, it's very trendy. It's called google.

And that'll give him what? The schools' websites, which will say only positive things about them. He's trying to get a feel for what the schools are actually like.

If you wanna stay instate Warhammer, Virginia Tech and UVA have architecture programs. With your GPA, you should be able to get into UVA if you are transfering and if you have enough credits.

unless he uses google to find sites that actually provide school rankings for architecture...

If you're talking about student-generated ones, those tend to be even more unreliable, because it's either people *****ing because they failed, or they're trying to kiss the ass of someone they know looks on the site.

you can find credible ones too from places like princeton review and usnews

I seem to remember that my alma mater, Kent State University, had a decent program.

It hurts me to say this, but University of Florida.

I didn't need no fancy schools and books.
I picked up what I know about architecture on the STREET
and I can building-design circles around those Candy-Ass Frank Loid Rite wannabes.:cmad:

Good Wilhelm-Scream (Hunting).

Shouldn't your guidance counselor tell you what the best Architectural Schools around are?

Possibly, but I was just wondering.

Btw, about 2 minutes ago, someone from the National Guard called me asking me how I can sign up for this thing, go to it about once a month, get a 800 paycheck for doing it, and stay in Virginia, as it will fully take care of my tuition for college (Or something like that). I thought it was some cram at first, but it sounds legit, and the number on the caller ID wasn't a phoney private number, etc.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for the info, guys. :)

Well, like Speedball implied in his posts, I live in VA.
I did mention GA because my dad lives in GA.
If I were to apply for Georgia Tech, wouldn't I be considered a resident?

Don't you need a 4.0 to get into MIT?
