The only person who actually called the last World War III "World War III" was Oracle in the heat of the moment. Nothing was ever declared, and actual nation-on-nation fighting was largely averted by the superheroes. However large of a crisis it was, the entire affair nonetheless lasted less than a day, was cleaned up in less than a week, and was due to the mind-controlling machinations of a alien god doomsday weapon, not any genuine enmity between countries.

The point is that it wasn't actually World War III, and this is.

Intergang is probably involved somehow, along with all the nations of the world being uptight and trigger-happy 'cause of Black Adam and whatnot. However, with the revelation that [blackout]the multiverse is back[/blackout], my theory is that this isn't just a World War [blackout]in terms of this single Earth, but a literal World War...between different worlds. As in, Earth-1, Earth-2, Earth-whatever, etc.[/blackout]

Okay, I read the article from the link. Pretty intriging stuff if you're a DCU nut. I may have to stick around for these developments...but did Didio refer to WWIII/52/IC as "Act II"??
