What is the last novel you read

I wish I had more time to read. :( I have a pile of books on my "to read" shelf on a variety of subjects, but I will get through them very slowly.

i get most my reading done on the train ...spend more time on it than almost everywhere else

I read at my breaks at work, so I get snippets here and there. I am reading Exile by Richard North Patterson at the moment and I'm about half way through. It's really good so far and I hope to finish it this week. :)

nice...and hey this thread made it to 2 pages squeekness sor far so good...hope we can keep it going

since I spend a lot of time commuting (about 3 hours a day avg), I decided to start reading while going and coming to/from work
next on my list:
a farewell to arms
the regulators
beatles biography by bob spitz
Babylon babies, which I just found out, will be a movie starring vin diesel

LOL, I'll have to get more reading done so I can be a better contributor. :p

Bill Maher: New Rules

Now currently reading
Infidel by Ayaan Hirsi Ali

We had to read The Great Gatsby in high school and I hated it. I was probably too young for such things, I wonder if I might like it now....

I was bored by A Brave New World back in high school, I'm currently reading it, and it's a very nice book

I also hated Moby Dick as a kid, but then I went back and read it as an adult, without picking it all apart like they make you do in school, and loved it. I read it as a historical piece and learned a lot about whaling. Since I love history and all that, I probably would like A Brave New World as well. :)

sometimes the books they assign in school dont really go over well for kids or teens but when read later as and adult people appreciate it more......Except the Red Badge of Courage that book will always suck

I think they ruin things sometimes in school by breaking everything down to death -- antagonist, protagonist, stupid symbolism. I sometimes wonder if the authors would have been just as surprised at what others read into what they wrote. :p

"Dude, it was just a book about that one time I went whaling, y'all..."

Currently reading a book called 99 Coffins. Very good read so far

I agree. Those books are classics for a reason. People liked them and became popular. over analyzing everything for school assignments takes away the enjoyment of reading the book and finding your interpretation of the events.

*dusts off the thread*

Well I managed to finsih Exile by Richard North Patterson and it was quite good if you're someone interested in the Jewish/Palestinian debate going in Isreal. :)

I was curious, do any of the readers here use E-readers to read digital books? If so, do you like it? I was thinking about buying one of those Kindles from Amazon.

As you can see from when i started thread it took me way longer than normal to finish the book i was reading but im finally done. The 6th book of Anita Blake Vampire Hunter was amazing. I could not beleive all the fun twists and turns that book went through. i highly suggest this book for any looking for a new way to look at vampires zombie lycanthropes and necromancers. This series is no joke and holds nothing back. Just bought book number seven and cant wait to start reading it.

I'm about halfway through the Lunatic Cafe right now. :) Right at the part where Jean-Claude says he wants Anita to date him, to give him the same time she gave Richard the Werewolf. Gotta love this stuff. :p

OMG its so good wait till that actually picks up more in the next one. you will not believe the way that little relationship goes. its so good and Jean-Claude just gets hotter and hotter.

He is my favorite. If Laurell kills him off down the line I'll just have to stop reading. :p

i agree i reallly hope he does not get killed i may have to stop reading it then lol

I still like Anne Rice's Lestat better, but Jean Claude is the main reason I read the Anita Books. I start smiling to myself when he shows up. :D
