What is "Up Up and Away" about?

I still think we can all agree that the bits with Clark Kent were brilliant.

Oh yes. Those were nice. I've always been a sucker for the more personal stuff with Clark.

Up, Up, and Away was pretty good for the first few issues. The last few weren't up really all that up to snuff with the first bits, but still good.

This is as accurate as it gets! I read the first three issues and I about wet myself everytime thinking "Man, this is so Awesome". But issues 5 & 6...it started to make less & less sense, and WAY to coincidental w/SR which kind of pisses me off  I haven't read parts 7 & 8 yet.

It started off as a story that could have been great, even classic. Then it just fizzled. It makes no sense for Lex to be this crazy maniac after all these years. Why would he try to destroy Metropolis? That city is his only love. Even if the people of Metropolis turned on him, I'd rather think that he'd quietly set up shop elsewhere instead of throwing a Kryptonian Crystal-enhanced tantrum.
The odd thing about the story is that Kurt Busiek swears that he never got ahold of the script for Superman Returns while he was scripting Up Up and Away. I don't buy that; there are just too many similarities for it to just be coincidence.

I counted 237 asshots of Lois Lane in Up, Up, and Away.

That's where the "Up Up" in the title came from. :o
