I prefer the symbol on the t-shirt on the left. In general, I prefer the Bat-Symbol without the yellow border around it. I like just the black-on-grey look. I also love the sharper, more lethal-looking Bat-Symbol that's used for the Nolan/Bale Batman.

Edit: Ahhhh, there they are. If I was to get a new tee, I would get the one on the left, cause I don't have any Bat-shirts like that, but I like both.

from a marketing standpoint, the yellow oval one. it's just so recognizable and so in-your-face. as far as in stories, that one is kinda corny, so i prefer the black on grey (it also is actually shaped more like a bat anyway).

I like the one on the DC Direct 13" collector figure (original black and grey version), a plain black bat with an extra set of wingtips along the bottom. If I knew how, I would post a pic, but I don't so i can't. Anyone else willing to do that for me?

The black symbol is the original symbol. It first appeared in 1939 with Detective Comics #27... but you knew that, right?
