The Amazing Spider-Man What villain or villains would you like to see them kick start the reboot with? Part

What villain or villains do you think they should restart the franchise with? Should they use one of Spidey's big guns, like Green Goblin or Doctor Octopus, villains who can be established and done in one movie?

Or should they do what Batman Begins did, and use villains who were not used in the previous franchise? Say someone like The Lizard, or Electro, or even the Vulture? Or maybe a combo?

Just no more goblin's crap in this movie. Sommething fressh and raw villians who want to kick spidey's ass

They are already starting with the Lizard and Proto-Goblin so from here it would make sense to do The Green Goblin storyline again. I think they should hold off on Doc Ock though , would like to see Electro , The Vulture , and other villians they haven't used.
A mix would be the best way to do it and a sinister six would be awesome.

THE LIZARD would make a great first villain for the new series. A combination of Alien/The Fly/Predator's original films should be the model for how he should be presented on screen.

Venom would be a good addition in a future film, but in regards to the negative press to his appearance in Spider-Man 3, I'd say Venom would have to be done right. I couldn't care less if they used the original or Ultimate backstories for Venom (in fact, I would say, for the differentiation of this series from the last, make it closer to the Ultimate version of events). But I would say that the best way to do Venom would be to have the Black Suit and possibly Eddie Brock introduced in one film, then for the next film, leave out Venom (with maybe hints in there as to his existence) and the film after, have Venom as the main villain.

Because someone has to say it in the continuation thread: Venom was done right in Spider-Man 3.

I'd really like to see Electro or the Shocker, btw.

Mysterio would be my first choice, with Norman Osborn in the film but not as Green Goblin yet. Have the Kingpin be the secondary villain to introduce him in the inevitable Daredevil reboot (assuming Fox no longer has the rights) Essentially, they could do with Spider-man what they have done with the Avengers, using his movies to introduce characters for spin-offs and sequels. With Spider-man you have potential for Daredevil, Punisher, Blade, ect. I am not saying I would like to see any of those characters in a Spider-Man movie, all I am saying is that all those movies that come in the future can be streamlined into the same continuity unlike their predecessors of the early 2000's.

i want to see these guys in future movies:

Shocker

Rhino

Vulture

Ultimate Venom (seems like he has a better motive)

Scorpion

Venom was done right in Spider-Man 3?

I'm...intrigued. Go on.

Venom overall is just a cool looking character that's a thorn in Spider-Man's side because he indirectly got him fired. Spider-Man 3 improved upon his motivations, and even gave him a new and interesting appearance. The only problem with Venom in Spider-Man 3 is that he had two other villains to compete with.

his personality was by far better than the original Venom.

but the "Revenge of Eddie Brock" ordeal has been going on for so long, the only interesting aspect that i see of Venom is his powers in relation to Spider-Man.

Ultimate Venom gives the character a breath of fresh air as the motives turn and the relation between those 2 characters are stronger than in the comics. Pals turned enemies

Ultimate Venom was very good indeed. I especially like how he (intentionally or not) represents a further loss of Peter's innocence.

I absolutely LOATHE ultimate Venom/Brock. Takes the suspense right out of the character.

If they intend on using Venom again in this series, I think they should take notes from The Spectacular Spider-man. That was an excellent portrayal of Venom.

Now, I don't think Venom was quite done right in SM3. The whole revenge theme in my opinion was quite flawed in that one.
Let's not forget how Venom was treated in terms of looks, power, and threat level.

ah, so you finally decided to come did you? :cwink:

Oooooh, yes, yes. That *****ebag. I should have known  :p

But yes, I got bored and thought I might as well show up here. Notice how I made my name easily recognizable to you guys. :p

shows how much attention we pay to someones name, even when you take one word out of it

Ive said it once and ill say it again! I hope Webb gives us already established villains - the creation of Spider-Man should not usher in the age of the super-villain.

already established? you mean already used? that seems really boring to see the same villains that we saw not too long ago. though it is an odd choice of villains for the first one. Lizard and Proto-Goblin. curious to see where the storyline goes

Im guessing he means spider-man and villains getting their powers at the same time as eachother and more villains following suit after all of a sudden spidey shows up
