I understand that, but you need to accept it was not a bad movie. I respect your opinion, and that it wasnt the movie/spider-man experience you were looking for, none the less structurally it was not bad. The characters were all fleshed out and relatable, the action was good but not overwhelming, and it tied up all the loose ends from the first film (minus the Harry Goblin arc). I personally don't like the Dark Knight that much, however, I still acknowledge it's a very well made movie that isn't for my taste.

If you didn't like the Raimi films then I'm sorry, and I hope you'll like the new ones better!

You need to accept it was a bad movie, for me. You are in way contradicting yourself by telling me to accept it was a good movie when you tell me you respect my opinion. What you have said about the is YOUR opinion. And it is subjective. Everything you've said is not fact, but your opinion, which, as I've said, I respect.

The characters where not well written, the dialog was cringe worthy, and the chemistry between MJ/Pete was non-existent. But that's my opinion, like the opposite is yours.

And though you thought TDK was a very well made movie, I still think spiderman 2 was not. You will not change my mind, nor I yours. But don't tell me it's a well made film when for me it was not. It is all subjective.

If anything, Spiderman 1 was better overall, and like I've said before, the Raimi films for me are not that good. Again, IMO.

It's all opinion and I respect yours. I love the Raimi Trilogy as a whole... well, at least the first two, and thing they are great movies! And I am really looking forward to the reboot!

Now this is what I love. Someone who has the opposite opinion to mine responding with respect and vice versa I hope. Like I've said, I'm glad people enjoyed the Raimi spidey films. I'm just looking forward to something that looks like something I've been waiting to see.

Deffiantly agree that Spidey 3 was... :whatever:, one of them lol

I like to hear individual opinion as much as anyone else, sometimes it can really enrich the movie-going experience when people like or dislike certain parts and times of the films, as in people have the same feelings as people in different scenes and people share that experience in the movie theatre, it's great.

But I suppose at times I like to understand collective opinions, because in fact, there are kind of millions of different opinions of the Raimi films as well as the new ASM film.

If I could sum them up it seems the general public enjoyed the first movie, but had problems with it (aspects of the comics changed), the second one they thought was well done & is still ranked high for superhero movies but were disapointed by SM3, no one opinion in the world could change that, it is public domain.

Me personally, enjoyed all three films and can enjoy as individual films rather than as a trilogy. Especially the third film which I think has to be enjoyed as an almost entirely exclusive film rather than being part of anything else.

What looks like for this new one, is they are building in a theme and a thread that will run throughout the entire series so that there will be real continity in the films, other than the Raimi 'Peter is in this place in his life now, Mary Jane is doing this now' kinda thing they always did. It seems like they will have a reucurring storyline in the films so will maybe seem like the Nolan Batman series which had stronger continuity than Raimi Spider-Man series did.

As to what will be 'better', better is a subjective word and it is too general. If someone said 'Which film had dialouge that better resembled the comic books' that could be a question answered or the same as 'Which film captured the action scenes of the comics more accurately?' Could be answered in some cases.

I do tire a little of seeing such flat general comics like 'Raimi series sucks ass, cuz i say so' or 'ASM looks better cuz they get things right this time.' I'm like what do they get right this time?

Which is why I often trust collective opinions like ratings and like 20 comments over 3 comments and so on.

You make sense...You can stay on my lawn.

It will require some build up, I'm not patient enough for it

If they introduce enough villains to begin with in the first three, and it survives a fourth film, then I would like a sinister six.

Sam Raimi's films could never have one, because he really only planned for each movie individually. Webb already has plans for the next couple of films, so I'm excited to see if it leads to something big. It has to! And what would be better than the sinister six?

It looks like Oscorp is going to be THAT evil organization we see throughout the film series, which is cool. In Raimi's movies, each time something happened there was no connection (other than Oscorp funding Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2). In the 1994 animated series, Kingpin was always a villain behind a lot of things, so in this case it could be Norman Osborn.

I hope it'll be just as good as Spider-man, though I wish it could be even better.
It's weird, most people here aren't too fond of Spider-Man 2 as much as some of you guys on this board. :)

I think Spider-Man 2 is the best superhero movie (yes, I think it is better than the Avengers). I think TASM will be better than Spider-Man and Spider-Man 3, but it may not top Spider-Man 2. We'll see.

I rank superhero films in this order:

1) The Dark Knight
2) The Avengers
3) Batman Begins
4) Iron Man
5) X-Men: First Class
6) X-Men 2
7) Spider-Man 2
8) Spider-Man
9) Thor
10) Batman '89 (haven't watched that one in ages though)

4) Batman Returns
5) The Avengers
6) X-Men: First Class
7) X-Men 2
8) Iron Man
9) Batman 89
10) Thor

This would be mine. So far, TAS is looking (just looking) that it will break in to my top films :-D

I'm hoping that TASM will make my top 10 list. If it is as good as it looks, it will be close to Spider-Man 1 & 2.

My list would probably be....

1. The Avengers
2. Batman Begins
3. Thor
4. Iron Man
5. Spider-Man
6. Spider-Man 2
7. X-Men First Class
8. The Dark Knight
9. The Incredible Hulk
10. Captain America

I noticed Spider-Man 2 being bashed a lot on the message boards, I wonder why..

Really? I've always noticed that everyone agreed that it was the best Spider-Man movie.

I mean I don't feel that way, but I know a lot of others here do.

I still hear people saying they don't like the way the movie was done and such. I still stand by my belief that it is the best superhero film yet. All opinions though so its cool :)
