A STAR IS BORN
A famous country rock musician Bradley Cooper as Jackson Maine, and a looking for her big break, extremely talented singer and songwriter Lady Gaga as Ally attempt to have a relationship and make beautiful music together
PRAISE: I knew going in that Gaga would knock it out of the park with her musical performances. How this woman is able to channel some Judy Garland and Barbara Streisand into her performance was mesmerizing.
It's Cooper who is the musical revelation in the film.He soulfully performs with an on stage swagger as if he's been singing and performing at stadiums for years.
I have so much admiration for his Direction of this film. The chemistry between the two is off the charts.
Cooper gives the weathered by life performance as a man dealing with personal demon's and physical ailments while trying to maintain a loving relationship
Their scenes together are electric, powerful and soul stirring.
Gaga is a revelation with her acting giving as much as Cooper can or any other actor in the film
The supporting cast is absolutely outstanding:Andrew Dice Clay,Dave Chappelle,Sam Elliott and Anthony Ramos.
PROBLEMS: Some old hat been there done that moments about losing your soul in the music industry.
This film will likely receive a ton of award nominations and it's deserving of all of them
One of the best movies of 2018

VENOM
So can Venom work as a stand alone character and movie without a hint or whisper of Spider-Man?
PRAISE:The Jekyll and Hyde back and forth between Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and Venom.
The character design and some of the SFX and voice work. Some good action sequences and some laughs here and there
PROBLEMS: Even going in with extremely low expectations,i left the theatre disappointed.
What was with all the slapstick? The script is schizophrenic, with additional memory lapses. The delivery of lines was extremely grating and terrible.
Michelle Williams talents....wasted.Riz Ahmed cookie cutter cliched villain.
To many quirky moments reminded me of some of those lame comedies from the 80's
One action sequence goes on for painfully to long.
The film is just all over the place.
I hope SONY doesnt go forward with Black Cat or Kraven the Hunter
At least they still have Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse up their sleeves.
