The Avengers What were your favorite scenes/moments? Obviously spoiler galore.

  • The scene at Stark Tower with Tony & Pepper.
  • Tony answering his phone, "Hello, you've reached Tony Stark's LMD," when Coulson called
  • Pepper & Coulson being friends and Tony being shocked. "His first name is Agent!"
  • Black Widow's interrogation scene
  • Coulson in total fanboy mode with Cap. "I watched you sleeping...."
  • Thor/Iron Man and Thor/Cap. That was an epic sequence straight out of the comics.
  • Nick Fury's many badass moments. When he jumped out of the crashing helicopter and came up firing at Loki; shooting down that SHIELD jet; hand-to-hand with Loki's henchmen on the Helicarrier
  • Cap's PTSD flashbacks. I loved how that was handled, as well as his many punching bags.
  • The bickering in Banner's lab. Everyone managed to get in a savage jab or two, and the camera angles subtly clued us in to Loki's manipulation.
  • The Loki/Natasha confrontation: Both Johansson and Hiddleston gave masterful performances. Whedon gets bonus points for using the word "quim" in a modern-day setting.
  • Coulson shooting Loki with that Destroyer-based gun. At least he got to fry the bastard who killed him.
  • Hawkeye shooting an arrow right at Loki's face, having previously vowed to put one in his eye socket; Loki catches it and smirks, only to have it explode in his face.
  • The entire final battle: 30+ minutes of pure comic book awesomness. I totally geeked out the whole time.
  • Iron Man playing "Jonah and the Whale" with one of the Leviathans.
  • The quiet moment near the end where we could see Nick suffering under the strain of the war.
  • Hulk smashing the **** out of Loki. The audience just lost it when that happened.
  • Hulk roaring to wake Tony up; Tony saying, "Please tell me nobody tried to kiss me."
  • Tony & Bruce's bromance. And they rod off into the sunset together, presumably to wreak havoc on the road like Butch & Sundance.

Maybe I should have just said that the entire movie was my favorite scene, because it was. :word:

Saw it three times already and I have to say Hulk using Loki as a rag doll kills the audience EVERYTIME!!! In a good way I mean.

So many to list I'm bound to forget some

The Iron Man mid air amour scene was so brilliantly done.
Hulk Punching Thor out of the scene
Hulk Smashing Loki around and Loki just lying on the floor in disbelief after.

Thor -" You would be careful how you speak of my brother"
BW - "He's killed 80 people in the past two days"
Thor - "He's adopted"
hahaha that was so funny

"Why should we follow your orders"
Stan Lee's quick but funny cameo.

And yes of course the zooming shots that show all The Avengers in action around the city.

Everything with Hulk
Scarlett Johansson
When Thor hit IM with lightning, and Jarvis says power level 400% hahahahahahaha

Could the A being left on Stark Tower lead to it becoming... Avengers Mansion???

Maybe not, but it'd be pretty neat.

Yes. Freaking. Please. At the end, he has a bunch of JARVIS files that looked suspiciously like the Identicards.

That Asian boy who was being interviewed at the end--could that be Amadeus Cho? I know he looks too young, but still...

Oh, and the precursor to the whole Registration shebang.

It looked like they were setting up Stark Tower to be renamed Avengers Tower in the sequels. It got pretty much trashed but Tony and Pepper were working on plans to rebuild it, I thought. They said that he built it with his own money, IIRC, so he can use it however he wants. (Bet it would be hard to find tenants after the tower was used as the focal point for an alien invasion.)

I can't get the Black Widow/Hulk chase and aftermath out of my head. I think it was my favourite element of the film. The chase was so dark and genuienly scary... it was handled in such a real way. And just seeing her shaking made something about it just feel so human.

I really loved it.

What made me connect to her was her dialogue with Loki. He really knew where to hit her, and he damn nearly did, if only she wasn't such a badass spy. I love all her scenes with Clint and I was going, a la Haymitch from the Hunger Games --'NOW KISSSSSSS!!!'

Me too. And then when (I think) Fury was calling for agents, she kinda shook off the shakes and got back down to business. I love women who can take care of themselves, she's awesome!

Hard to find a scene that was not mentioned before, but my first goosebumbps came right after Loki's escape from the SHIELD HQ in the beginning. Fury looks pissed and then Coulson's voice is heard from the radio. He asks something like "Sir, what do we do now?" and BAM! "The Avengers" title card hits, accompanied by Alan Silvestri's theme (finally, a clear theme in a movie again!).

Also, a fellow poster mentioned Cap's fight with Loki. Loki is far weaker than Thor but you see in the beginning, bullets bounce off him, he is nearly invulnerable. And when he and Cap fight, he is faster and stronger than a human being, even if this human is Captain America. Yet, CA holds his own against an Asgardian and you can see him being juuuuust a little bit slower than Loki, even landing some punches and some shield tosses.

Captain America is, perhaps, my less favourite hero of the Big Three but I loved him in this movie, I liked how he kept being true to his 30s-40s mentality and character. This brought a certain charm on screen, not less because Chris Evans seems to understand the character and respect the job.

Actually, I was surprised on how invested the acting looked, from pretty much everybody. It was as if the stakes were real, you could tell the actors felt the moment. For example, I like Tony's playful glee after Pepper talks to his ear and moments later, as he looks on the Tesseract image that Coulson brought to him, his eyes display an earnest seriousness.

Almost forgot: Thor summoning the thunder. First, when he suited up in that field, after he escaped the Helicarrier fall. Beautiful imagery there... And later, as he sends the lightning at the portal, frying Leviathans and aliens.

I like that cap says tony isn't willing to lie on the wire and let other soldiers walk over him (scarife himself) and that is exactly what he (tony) does at the climax of the movie.

I was at the edge of my seat at that scene. I mean, I know they weren't going to kill him off, they're already filming IM 3, but he's my favorite Avenger and watching him do that just chilled me. I felt really proud of him :))

Tony's suicidal tendencies are part of why I love him. Especially the scene where he does a Jonah with the Leviathan

Fave Thor scene was the Lightning bolt at the top of the Empire State, Fave Hulk was the Loki Ragdoll scene, Fave Cap was the Cop asking why they should listen to Cap and he then beats the crap out of two Citarri, Fave IM scene was the nuking of the ship in space.

Two for me.

1. When the Avengers assemble with the score blaring.

2. HULK vs THOR and when HULK attacks the jet

This will be said many times but seriously, nothing tops Hulk beating the **** outta Loki in the middle of his "iam a god' diatribe. The audience lost it. people cheered, laughed and clapped like crazy in my showing

Was it my imagination or was the Actual Avengers Logo a Different looking style at the beginning than they have been using?

Yeah, the crowd laughed out loud during that sequence.

It was hard not to laugh...just a bit

Yeah the logo is different. I thought I was watching a bootlegged version lmao.

lol yeah I thought the same thing but not at ALL possible since the Disney folks were there. lol

Oh yeah just thought of another fave scene. Where Tony has fallen to Earth after the nuke and Hulk has saved him but not waking up until Hulk roars at him. lol Half the audience jumped too lol

What I liked more about that scene is that Thor was swinging his hammer ready to go save him. I thought that was a pretty cool little touch showing that Thor does care about the well being of these guys.

I thought Thor was going to jump start Tony like he had in the comics and a few friends. Then Hulk roars lol

Ruffalo definitely stole the show in pure acting ability I think. And the payoff with "I'm always angry" and its afterplay is such a nergasm moment I nearly sprung out of the chair!

Yeah, i can't get over it. GREAT payoff to the way he acts in the whole movie. Like he's somewhat on edge, but not in an obvious way, while embracing it, and joking about his rage..
it all made sense.

ruffalo was brilliant imo.

i also liked that one guy. target angry target angry! then when he tried to eject, hulk caught him! I was all , "oh shiiiiii"
