The Avengers What were your favorite scenes/moments? Obviously spoiler galore.

I thought Thor was going to jump start Tony like he had in the comics and a few friends. Then Hulk roars lol

He should totally do that sometime, but I think we in the audience have had enough of Tony almost dying.

I have to admit I almost lost my mind when captain america saved that old fellow in the beginning. That was so amazing. And then when iron man was bouncing his reulsors against cap's shield. Oh my

I was at the edge of my seat at that scene. I mean, I know they weren't going to kill him off, they're already filming IM 3, but he's my favorite Avenger and watching him do that just chilled me. I felt really proud of him :))

Tony's suicidal tendencies are part of why I love him. Especially the scene where he does a Jonah with the Leviathan

This stood out for me in the second screening. Felt a lot for him in those scenes especially since he's just accused of being selfish the whole movie and yet he's the only one who was genuinely trying to reach out to Banner because on some level he could really identify with him.

Their bromance was beautiful. Subtle moments and driving off together. Kind of makes me wish Banner was in IM3 tbh.

[QUOTE="_____";23148111]That was fantastic[/QUOTE]

That was amazing. Such just a great, quick moment that just screams AVENGERS.

Other favorites:

-Hulk sucker punching Thor. Really, any time Hulk was on screen.

-Cap saving the people in the bank and the general reactions to The Avengers. The woman talking about Cap saved her was just icing on the cake for me, as well as seeing all the people getting Cap tattoos and wearing t-shirts of him.

-The Black Widow/Loki interrogation scene

-Cap showing up in Germany and taking on Loki 1-on-1

There were so many great scenes, and if I go on I'll probably list the entire movie.

The amazing thing is that there are scenes in this movie that would be epic highlights of any other movie, but in this there are just cool in comparison to the endless lis of BEYOND EPIC SCENES. I shouldn't even try to do this but anyway (in no particular order):

1: THE TRACKING SHOT in it's entirety. And let in be known that from now on, in all of cinema, that shot shall be known as THE TRACKING SHOT!!!
2: THOR summoning MJOLNIR to epicly uppercut HULK.
3: THOR vs IRON MAN (verbally and violently).
4: MJOLNIR vs CAPTAIN AMERICA's SHIELD.
5: HULK vs the plane.
6: The interrogation scene between BLACK WIDOW and LOKI.
7: HAWKEYE's usb arrow.
8: CAPTAIN AMERICA epic run to the police officers and then showing them why they should follow his orders.
9: The circling shot of THE AVENGERS followed by CAPTAIN AMERICA's orders, ending in "and HULK...SMASH!".
10: HAWKEYE's blind shot.
11: HULK vs LOKI
12: "I'm always angry!" with one punch take-down of the leviathan.
13: CAPTAIN AMERICA and THOR catching their weapons simultaneously.
14: EVERYTHING ELSE!!!!!!!

Oh my god, when they showed all the public's reactions to The Avengers, I felt like a kid rediscovering comic books again.

I know I keep harping on the "old-fashioned" theme and message of the movie, but the good-spirited movie nerd in me just can't get over it and what Whedon had to say about superhero movies with this film. Making superheroes traditional, fun, inspirational characters again just felt so good. The fact that the movie mirrors real life in terms of the film itself being old-fashioned during a time where it's more popular to deconstruct superheroes and their movies is great.

And then the best part-- the acceptance and celebration of that return to form from the public at the end of the movie is mirrored now by filmgoers all over. Anyone who doubted that the general audience would care about Avengers or classic superhero antics are eating crow and getting in on the celebration now. It's just a wonderful feeling :awesome:

all of it guys.

1. Loki's arrival was badass. I thought that scene was very intimidating.
2. Hulk vs Thor was awesome, Thor was just trying to calm him down. I liked that "try to think banner!"
3. Hulk killing the serpant with one punch.
4. Hulk Cheap shotting thor lol.
5. Thor taking out the serpent thing, making it blow up with his lightning.
6 I did not like the hulk beating up loki scene. It made me cringe.
7. Thanos was my favorite part of the movie. ughhhhhh

The mad god thanos

Isn't it funny how a 2 second mid-credit sequence can be the best thing? Man I was so geeked out when I saw him.

My #2 is still the moment the Thor/Hulk fight breaks out ..... I loved the "suddenness" of it as Thor comes out of nowhere. Right when it happened I said, oh now "stuff" just got real!

The cheap shot! I want a custom statue of it on my shelf. Hulk with his left arm out straight and Thor reeling! My theater exploded with that one.

My theater exploded with that one.

The moment was just so much fun. My theater was the loudest I've ever heard an audience when it happened .... until the [BLACKOUT]Hulk/Loki meeting[/BLACKOUT] LOL.

The whole movie, basically. But my top 3 are character moments.

1 - The scene with Cap and Iron Man talking where Coulson died. "Never lost a man before?" "We're not soldiers!" It was just a well written well acted scene, and I think it was at the heart of that conflict with Iron Man and Cap, and it just worked well.

2 - Black Widow interrogating Loki. She was incredible, and her plan was incredible. And she did it. It was just brilliant.

3 - "That's my secret Captain, I'm always angry." Now, I never liked the Hulk, especially this new god-level Hulk in the comics, but this movie made me care about Banner, and made him the central character in that dichotomy, and it was glorious. This moment, where he casually walks into the Hulk... just. Whew. Beautiful.

Saw this at midnight... LOVED IT! Cap was awesome and the scene where Iron Man shoots at the shield... I literally screamed like a little girl!! Hulk was pure awesome and Ruffalo did an amazing performance, the best one yet I feel..

One of the best scenes was [BLACKOUT]Hulk smashing Loki around like a rag doll[/BLACKOUT] (does anyone know what[BLACKOUT] Hulk said to Loki[/BLACKOUT]? The theater was laughing so hard I couldn't hear him!)

I almost forgot about that line. It definitely added some emotion to what initially came off a lil' flat when Coulson first died.

I saw it. I have no idea what the tracking shot is. and what part of the final battle you all are referring to. Clueless.

heres my top ten favorite moments:

1. Banner: My secret is....I AM ALWAYS ANGRY
(this includes wat follows next) (the crowd including me just went nuts, and this is coming from a huge thor fan)

2. Thor timing his hammer uppercut against the Hulk

3. Coulson's last words against loki: "You Lack Conviction"...BOOM!

4. Ironman blasting multiple rays with Cap using shield (made my brain melt)

5. Hawkeye/Ironman Team up

6. Tracking shot

7. Cap giving out order to the team gave me chills

8. Thor clogging the portal using his lightning

9. Black Widow hitching a ride on a moving chariot with Cap's help (and her fight with Barton)

10. Hulk/Thor team up

TBH the entire movie was filled with countless money shots making this thread even more valid

The pan-shot to show the single A left on the Stark Tower was great. It just gave me an instant smile.

I like that cap says tony isn't willing to lie on the wire and let other soldiers walk over him (scarife himself) and that is exactly what he (tony) does at the climax of the movie.

one of the most memorable scenes was stark saving the city from nuke

Tony was great, as usual. I loved the beaten down look they gave Banner. It made the Hulk's superiority just that much greater.
I was a little worried on how BW & Hawkeye would fit into the mix, but was pleasantly surprised at how their storylines were written.
Everything just worked well.

Personally I love how they almost made Thor like the go to guy. He kinda flew down and helped Cap Widow, and Hawkeye when they were out numbered. In the Hulk and Thor fight, Thor was just trying to calm down Hulk, and he wasn't really phased by anything Hulk had. And that hammer uppercut that sent hulk flying was great. Hell, after Hulk through thor through the walls, Thor smiled, he like "hmm a challenge, I think I will play".

Not to mention taking out the dragon with his lightning in the final battle, making it explode and clogging the portal. That was probably the biggest display of power in the movie.

Come to think of it, we haven't seen Thor get hurt at all in the two movies he's been in when he had his powers. Even Hulk looked hurt at one point, when he looked up at ironman flying the nuke.

In the MCU Thor really looks like nothing can hurt him.

IMO best part of that final fight was not the tracking shot, whatever that was,
but when ironman shot his rays off cap's shield. The acrobatics cap was doing right before that, only to put his shield up for stark to bounce off of. Unbelievable.

That movie ****ing blew my mind. Now that I think back to it. Unbelievable. and as if it wasn't good enough,

Throwing Thanos there at the end, after being teased and hinted throughout the movie. fantastic.
