Lets say you had the power to do whatever you wanted to Marvel's books, what would you do? What books would you cancel? What characters would get their own ongoing?

Well, first of all I would expunge any trace of The Other, New Avengers and Civil War from Marvel continuity.

I would pare most people down to JUST ONE TITLE A PEICE!

I didn't say alter continuity or take charge of Marvel, that topic has gotten old and redundant

Just what books would get canceled or created dammit :cmad:

Jeez, bite my head off why don't you.

Fine, I would leave all current books just as they are and create a new limited series named House of M 2, then cook up some stupid excuse to alter history. Dr. Doom invents some super-evil-mega reality warping ray like he always does, which would then "expunge any trace of The Other, New Avengers and Civil war from Marvel continuity", to quote myself.

It's fun :p

Uhhhh...good enough I guess

I'd reveal that the current Norman Osborn was really a Skrull and the original was still dead. I'd also have the Punisher Kill John Byrne and Rob Liefeld in a comic.... other than that I'd have to think about it. I'm not sure which books I'd cancel... Probably reduce the X-Men to two titles for the adults and one title for the students. I'd return the beast to his orginal blue fur version, get rid of the cat crap. I'd reduce Spider-Man to having 4 monthly titles in the MU (Ultimate doesn't count.) I'd also bring back Marvel Comics Presents as a way to introduce new ideas and new artists.

I'd stop having huge events every summer. There should be at least a year between each one. I'd also have an ongoing Inhumans title. Maybe an ongoing Namor title too. And definitely an ongoing Silver Surfer title as well as a Dr. Strange ongoing title. Also, as a rule, characters could not be on two teams at the same time. I also wouldn't cancel books until at least the 12th issue.

One xmen book
One book per character^
One continuity (if glactus shows up it affects everybody)
Trash the ultimates as soon as they start costing us money
Change 'young avengers to avengers'
Drop the price on the books within reason
Write blade as the vampiric Punisher he really is
Redo the origin of vampires
Redo how magic meshes with the rest of marvel
Start a new book that explores magic and monsters in the marvel universe
Canceled books would get a ‘wrap-up’ arc
Characters would age at half the rate of real time (this would probably be my most unpopular move)
I’d start a mature line of comics and then steal a bunch of DC’s writers

1. Cancel the Ultimate Marvel and Marvel Adventures lines

2. Marvel MAX line: Black Widow, Blade, Daredevil (the Man Without Fear), Ghost Rider, Heroes for Hire, the Immortal Iron Fist, Nick Fury (Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Power Man (Luke Cage), Punisher, Shang-Chi: Master of Kung-Fu, Wolverine

3. Cancel Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Sensational Spider-Man, Astonishing X-Men (replace it with X-Men), New Excalibur, Punisher: War Journal, Wolverine: Origns, and Exiles.

4. Give ongoings to Namor, Luke Cage, Shang-Chi, Nick Fury, Black Widow, Dr. Strange, Wonder Man, Silver Surfer, New Mutants.

5. X-Men (formerly Astonishing) line-up: Cyclops, Beast, Iceman, Angel, Phoenix, Shadowcat, Colossus, Wolverine, White Queen

6. Uncanny X-Men line-up: Nightcrawler, Storm, Polaris, Havok, Psylocke, Warpath, Rogue, Gambit, and Bishop

7. Avengers line-up: Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Giant-Man, Wasp, Hulk, Spider-Man, Wonder Man, Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, Daredevil and Black Widow

Cancel all titles except the following with creative teams of my choosing...

Amazing Spider-Man: Dan Slott/Mike Weiringo
Avengers: Robert Kirkman/Steve McNiven
Uncanny X-Men: Christopher Priest/Doug Manhke
Mighty Thor: Joe Casey/John Cassaday
Captain America: Ed Brubaker/Steve Epting (If it ain't broke...)
Invincible Ironman: Warren Ellis/J.G.Jones
IronFist: No Change
DareDevil: No Change
She-Hulk: No Change
Heroes-For-Hire: Dwayne McDuffie/Travis Charest
Incredible Hulk: Brian Wood/Gary Frank
MAX Comics Thunderbolts: Brian K. Vaughan/Steven Dillon
Fantastic Four: Grant Morrison/Jim Cheung
Young Avengers: Robert Kirkman/Steve Skroce
RunAways: Joss Whedon/Juan Bobillo
MAX Comics Wolverine: Garth Ennis/John Romita Jr.
MAX Comics Punisher: No Change
Irredeemable Ant-man: No Change
MoonKnight: No Change

Spider-Man:

1) The number of Spider-Man titles would be reduced to one, Amazing Spider-Man. Dan Slott and John Romita Jr. would be the creative team.

X-Men:

1) The X-Men titles that directly concern the X-Men team would be reduced to one, Uncanny X-Men. The creative team would be Joss Whedon and Alan Davis.

2) Wolverine would only apear in two titles regularly: Uncanny X-Men and his solo series. I'd hand the reigns of his solo series over to Garth Ennis.

3) I would have the Xaivier school move to Boston at the request of Reed Richards, who on behalf of the government has gone to great lengs to make sure that major superhuman events no longer center around New York by removing such elements that atract these events as the X-Men, who's nature as superhuman political activists draws much danger to the city.

4) I would also have the X-Men become a U.S. government sponsored anti-terrorism unit. Essentially, doing what they always did, but legally. Membership on the X-Men would be limited to those faculty members with the proper training. The students would be limited to community service in the area.

5) I would actually have the various members of the X-Men be given specific teaching duties in the school:

Cyclops: Head of the civics/community service programs at the school.

Wolverine: Gym (E/I Danger Room sessions)

Beast: Biology

Storm: History

Nightcrawler: Philosophy/religion

Kitty Pryde: Computer sciences

Professor X: Physics

Other teaching duties would go to non team members.

Avengers:

1) I would have it be revealed that the reason everyone is acting so out of character in Civil War is because the Mad Thinker and the Puppet Master took advantage of the Superhero Registration Act and manipulated key individuals into taking their reactions to illogical extremes, turning it from a simple political debate to mass chaos.

2) There would only be one Avengers title, and the roster would be as thus:

Captain America

Captain Britain

Thor

Iron Man

Sabra

Red Gaurdian II

Black Panther

Namor

Scarlet Witch (she'll be on prozac)

Sasquatch

She Hulk

The team would be made into an international group responding directly to the U.S. and S.H.E.I.L.D. The creative team would be Grant Morrison and Doug Mahnke.

Urban Legends:

It would be a rather loose affiliation of New York's street level vigilantes. It would include Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Cloak, Dagger, Moon Knight, Echo, and White Tiger. By this point, due to Reed Richard's program, the Urban Legends would be the only vigilante heroes still active in New York besides Spider-Man.

The Force:

A special task force set up by the NYPD for the purpose of dealing with superhuman related crimes. The members of this task force are:

Hank Pym

Janet Van Dyne

Bishop

Genis-Vell

Felicia Hardy

The Two-Gun Kid

Johnny Blaze

The series would be written by Peter David

Invaders:

A new team is formed, and serves as the more violent, black ops counter part to The Avengers. The team inlcudes:

Black Widow

Union Jack

Spitfire

USAgent

Deadpool

Thin-Man

Blazing Skull

Jim Hammond (after being rebuilt)

Citizen V

Also, I'd try to get alot more comedy books made. I mean, drama's great, but people still need laughs too. I'd probably comission a new Howard The Duck series as a start.
