Goosebumps - The Haunted School

Takes me back to being a pre-teen in the 90s :D

Just started reading the Upanishads. I'm not Hindu myself, but I find it really fascinating, and there is quite a lot of wisdom to be found in their scriptures.

One day, I'd love to read the unabridged Mahabharata. They're huge, though, so I'll probably end up having to read it on my yet unpurchased iPhone or Kindle or whatever.

It's been a while sinds I read anything (fun). It was probably The Closers by Michael Connelly. That's part of the reason I joined this forum. Now that I have more free time I want to read more and not just the "popular" books.

@MountainTock perhaps you could watch Mahabharat the series before you start reading. Perhaps it will make reading it go more smoothly.

Yes, I watched the long six-hour version of that. Was quite enjoyable, but as one critic says, it hardly has the huge, epic feel that it is supposed to. Definitely still a must watch, though.

Tess of the d'Urbervilles. Haven't read it since I was school and forgot how good it was.

'The History of the World According to Facebook' by Wylie Overstreet. I have learned so much from this book. :oldrazz:

John Carter - The Warlord of Mars - Edgar Rice Burroughs

Confessions from the Cold.

Interesting read, but not very satisfying.

Ultimates: Homeland Security

Loved it.

Making Movies by Sidney Lumet, must read for anyone who one days wishes to make films or who is interested in how they are made, a great book indeed

i never finished it in high school. i should go back and actually read all the books i neglected to in school when i supposed to.

i'm currently halfway through The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and about a third of the way through I Love You Beth Cooper by Larry Doyle. when i get too tired of one, i switch to the other heh

Been reading The Hobbit. Up to Chapter 3.

Also started reading The Walking Dead Compendium 1.

Finally got around to reading World War Z (after sitting on my shelf for ages) in anticipation of the movie. It was an engaging and thrilling novel and I'm curious to see how it'll translate into a movie. Although going by the plot synopsis of the movie, it looks like the only similarity the movie will be sharing with the book is the name.

Just finished Carte Blanche the new 007 book, awesome book and a great 'reboot' of the Bond universe in book form. If the same guy who wrote it does a follow up I will so get it, also it was the first original 007 book I have read (read some of the film adaptations of a few of the films in the past).

Finished: The Grave Thief by Tom Lloyd.
Currently: The Ragged Man by Tom Lloyd.

Carte Blanche by Jeffery Deaver

I liked it, despite feeling that Deaver relies on twists and turns too much on the latter part but nevertheless, it's a real page-turner, very suspenseful and I felt Deaver captured the character and the spirits of Bond very well, in a modern world.
