I haven't seen a thread like this on here, but I am curious of SHH's general opinion here.

*Why only these 5? These are the ones I see in peoples top 10 lists, when discussing the top CBM or even comparisons to newer CBM.

So decide the best of the best.

Still Winter Soldier as the best MCU film to me. Densely packed and well-written, major ramifications for the entire universe- despite wondering why SHIELD didn't install one of its own at the top- and much like the Nolan Batman films, Winter Soldier is a great movie first and a great superhero film second. As great as Civil War is, I enjoy Winter Soldier's plot a lot more than that movie, despite the problems I find in both.

Civil War. My second favorite CBM ever after TDK.

1. Captain America The Winter Soldier
2. Captain America Civil War
3. The Avengers
4. Guardians of the Galaxy
5. Iron Man

It's a toss-up between Civil War & GOTG for me, but I'll choose CW in this instance. Definitely one of the most emotionally heavy MCU films thus far, if not the most heavy.

Captain America the Winter Soldier, it's Marvel's master stroke IMO.

Can't really pick one. Civil War and The Avengers - more ambitious and challenging movies, but they also have bigger flaws. The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy are less flawed, but they had less challenges to overcome. Iron Man is a very well-made CBM, but it's subjects aren't really interesting to me.

All movies are great overall.

Cap Civil War

The Avengers

GOTG

Cap The Winter Soldier

Ironman 3

It's between TWS and CW for me. I can't choose. :(

The Winter Soldier, but that could change after watching Civil War a couple more times.

Know it's early but a little surprised by CW. I think I might wait until after I watch it again for the 3rd time.

Iron Man, its still my favorite, its simplicity gives it an edge, i was going between this and Civil War but this one is less flawed and the one that started it all, it pretty much made me love the character, a very underappreciated soundtrack by Ramin Djawadi. "Driving with the Top Down" is just great.

Civil War. But my top 5 is actually a bit different.

Civil War
Age of Ultron
Guardians
The Winter Soldier
Avengers

The rest would be:
Iron Man
Ant-Man
Thor
The Dark World
Iron Man Three
The First Avenger
Iron Man 2
The Incredible Hulk

Then again I love them all.

Guardians. I know the plot isn't as tight as something like TWS or Iron Man (which would be my #2 and 3), but it's just so much fun and I feel like it's probably the best deep space sci-fi movie I've seen in decades. I would even rank it about The Force Awakens and JJ Abram's first Star Trek film, both of which I loved.

Other - Iron Man 3.

I could get behind your choice there, Rows. Its the third act of Guardians that puts it over IM for me.

Civil War by far. It's tantalizingly close to my perfect superhero movie.

Second out of these would be Avengers, though I usually consider it more or less a toss-up between Avengers 1 and 2 - they both have flaws, but they sort of complete each other in my opinion and they have a great atmosphere that the solo movies don't quite achieve.

After that is Winter Soldier, which I would say is technically a better made movie than the Avengers, but not as fun for me.

Then Guardians, which is lots of fun, but does suffer a bit from the poor villain.

Of these, Iron Man comes last, but my actual marvel top five would have CA The First Avenger behind Guardians. I think it's an incredibly underrated movie, just as good of an origin story as Iron Man and with far more interesting material.

Civil War. I love MCU Cap and all the other characters are great as well. I can't actually name one character I did not like in the film. Plot is interesting; Cap has to go against his friends and just about the whole world to do what he believes is right. And watching the movie is emotional rollercoaster. From the joy of Spider-Man to the gut wrenching "S-sergeant Barnes?".

Cap has certainly been one of the best things in MCU for me. Too bad we'll probably have to say goodbye to him after A4.

TWS. I thought CW was good but somewhat overrated.

Civil War and Avengers are neck and neck at the top. Once I see it again I'll be able to properly re-evaluate it.

Captain America: TWS

Guardians

Iron Man

Civil War, followed by Avengers and Winter Soldier.

And then Age of Ultron, even though it's not on this list and I realize most people don't like it as much as I do. :funny:

I went with The Winter Soldier. Just a fantastic movie.

Civil War is a close second.

Decided to go with Guardians of the Galaxy. Because it reminds me of the best sci-fi of 70s and 80s and feels unique. But it's personal choice. Objectively it's TWS.
