What's your favorite song for a workout or running playlist...

Hmmm...I wonder if Reqiuem for a Tower has good pacing for a jog. I think I'll try it this afternoon.

When do you guys run? Morning, afternoon or night?

i prefer morning or early evening, but I usually go on 2+ hour runs, so I kinda have to do it whenever it fits into my dad.

It's funny, because right now I'm literally putting together a playlist for my iPod and I'm about to go run a mile on the treadmill before I meet a friend for lunch.

African Student Movement- Saul Williams
God Given- Nine Inch Nails
3's & 7's- Queens Of The Stone Age
You Are The One- Shiny Toy Guns
Pass This On- The Knife
Sick, Sick, Sick- Queens Of The Stone Age
I Was A Lover- TV On The Radio
Dirtywhirl- TV On The Radio
Wish- Nine Inch Nails
MLK- U2
I'm Slowly Turning Into You- The White Stripes
Y Control- Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Wolf Like Me- TV On The Radio
Radio GA GA- Queen
The Beginning Of The End- Nine Inch Nails

And I'll only get through maybe three or four songs, but I pause it when I'm done and pick up at the exact same spot the next time I run.

ahh.. i need some nin in the mix. loads of good stuff there.

AC/DC - Heatseeker
AC/DC - If You Want Blood (You Got It)
Metallica - Fuel
Motley Crue - Kickstart My Heart
NIN - Wish
NIN - Only
Our Lady Peace - Starseed
Rage Against the Machine - No Shelter
Rage Against the Machine - Sleep Now in the Fire
The Tragically Hip - In View
The Vines - Get Free
The White Stripes - The Hardest Button to Button
The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Art Star
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Pin

I usually listen to this when I go public skating... keeps the energy up

Motley Crue - Kickstart My Heart... hahah! genius!

Madvillain - All Caps

Beastie Boys - No Sleep till Brooklyn

Fiona Apple - Criminal

Skindred - Nobody Gets Out Alive

ive had the fatboy slim 'body movin' remix on one, and 'intergalactic' too.

I listen to scores.

Like the Superman Returns one, 300 and yes of course the Rocky theme :D

push it to the limit

actually, just about any 80's montage song works wonders.

hhahah... that reminds me of the montage song from 'Wet Hot American Summer'

liquid lives - Hadouken!
everybodys screaming - Lost Prophets
Duality - Slipknot
All My Life - Foo Fighters
I write sins not tradgedies - Panic! At The Disco
Personal Jesus - Marylin Manson

i NEVER jog, but they are on my playlist for the 20 minute walk between my house and my boyfriends, so thats the closest i have to a workout playlist!

CHeesie metal-DragonForce, their Inhuman Rampage CD.

DJ Shadow - Changeling - from the album, Entroducing...don't be turned off by how downtempo it is...you can seriously zone out while joggin' to the drumbeat...sometimes i just keep it on repeat and don't even realize i've been running for that long.

Soundtracks or scores? This sounds so crazy that it just might work...I'll give it a go next time. I've always wanted to try running to a Rocky soundtrack. :woot:

I am 100% serious when I say it REALLY does pump you up!

For me it would include the Rocky soundtrack, the Daredevil Soundtrack, the Punisher Soundtrack,

THE TOUCH--Stan Bush (from Transformers)
DARE--Stan Bush (another from Transformers)
FIGHTER--Christina Aguliera
Any AC/DC...
There goes My Hero--Foo Fighters

I also love to run along with the beats of songs, and some great ones for that/running in general:

One Man Army--Our Lady Peace
Memory--Sugarcult
Pain--Jimmy Eat World
Whisper--Evanesence
Ocean Avenue
Breathing
Believe
Miles Apart--All by Yellowcard and definatly get you going at a fast clip to keep with the beat

there are a few more...but I'd have to check my ipod...

Mindless Self Indulgence - What do They Know? (The Perfects "Hollowboy Extended Pleasure Mix")

foo fighters - All My Life
Sum 41 - Underclass Hero
Elliot Minor - Jessica

I listen to a lot of different kinds of music (only genre's I don't like are techno and most country), so my workout music is pretty diverse.

Lately I've been listening to a lot of Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, Static-X, and Clutch when I work out doing cardio, and 2Pac, Tool, Steel Pulse, and Johnny Cash when I'm hitting the free weights.

These songs get me pumped up:
"Terrible Lie" - Nine Inch Nails (LIVE)
"Meet Your Master" - NIN
"Stink Fist" - TOOL
along with others.

im gonna have to take some of these songs under advisement

it depends on the day... sometimes it's Star Trek, sometimes it's Super Sentai, and sometimes it's Breaking Benjmin

Pretty much every song by Death From Above 1979 works, gets me pumped.

I don't have my iPod on me...but here's a rough recollection of my...

Running playlist:

Workin' for the Weekend - Loverboy
Dead by Dawn - Showbread
The Tension and the Terror - Straylight Run
MakeDamnSure - Taking Back Sunday
Heat of the Moment - Asia
Poison - Bel Biv DeVoe
How to Save a Life - The Fray
Eye of the Tiger - Survivor
The Safety Dance - Men without Hats

That's all I can remember at the moment.

There's more on there, though.
