I don't see how people can talk for hours and hours on the phone.

It makes no sense.

on average my phone calls are jsut to verify people's positions or arrange plans for a night out, i'm not on the phone for more than 2 minutes at a time when making a call.

longest i've had a call for is around 2hrs and that was simply because a friend of mine was having problems sleeping, which was ironic because the call actually made me sleepy and he had to keep waking me.

:(

any phone junkies on this place? If so, how do you manage to do it?

I never have long phone conversations. But, someone I know had a 3 hour phone conversation about Sandwiches

musclesforsupes?

Longest I've ever had was maybe 30 minutes. I like to keep my calls short, but some people you just can't shut up.

I've talked for 2-3 hours on more than one occassion, due to the fact that the people I was talking to didn't live near me.

On one occassion I had a nearly 8-hour IM conversation with one of the people I also talked to at length on the phone.

Various girls, and girlfriends have gone a few hours on the horn.

Conversations with guy friends are done in 2 minutes.
Hey.
Hey.
What's up?
Nothing.
Want to do something?
Sure.
Cool.
I'll be by in a bit.

I always consider IM to be different, much slower paced than conversing...

2-3 hrs?

regular occurence, is it like a catching up call?

at most those are around half an hour for me, but there are people in relationships who see their spouse for most of the day and still spend more than half an hour speaking to them on the phone.
for some reason 2 minutes after picking up a phone, i just lose all interest in everything. i spend the rest of the time trying to get off it tactfully.

:(

I have talked to someone for 3 hours before. It was with...a girl.

However, since it was after 9pm, and I use Sprint Cell Phone, the minutes didn't count after 9pm so they were free.

I have no problem talking to individuals for any period of time if the conversation is going smoothly, and there is a solid chemistry flowing.

I talked to my uncle in Texas for about a half hour the other week, but most of my calls don't last much longer than a minute or two. If they go that long at all.

most of these calls if done correctly don't even hit the 1 minute barrier. I've put the 'display call time' option on my phone so i know how long all my calls are now and it's just crazy how slowly time goes on the phone. a well informed convo which you think lasts 5 minutes is actually about 45 seconds long.

what's your longest chat with a dude been?

6 hours plus, because my Mom became a psycho-alcoholic the day I moved out.

Well it also depends if the question "So, what are you wearing?" comes up.

So you're saying if we talked on the phone rather than IM, you'd only last for under 2 minutes? :(

Some were regular calls. With one it was once-a-week for a couple hours. With another it was twice-a-week for 2-3 hours.

Others have been more sporadic.

Years ago, this girl and I would have pretty long conversations over the phone about nothing particular, but we haven't spoken in almost three years. So I really wouldn't know if we'd still have long chats.

Other times, the time spent over calls would pretty much vary, depending on who I was talking with.

well about 20 seconds of coherent thought talk, then i would switch into automatic

how are you?
where do you live
how's the weather
will you marry me

ya know, the typical stuff you say to people when you first meet them.

I could cook a full course meal, exercise and sleep for 6 minutes all fine while keeping that kinda discussion going.

are the regular ones relationship talks?

I used to live about 5 mins from my girlfriend at school so i would just walk over to her boarding house if i ever wanted to chat.

and we didn't communicate in the holidays so it wasn't a big deal then.

as for the ones in uni, the calls have really been no longer than 20 mins. Maybe i'm just not a phone person.

:(

ah the phone sex, i knew it was only a certain amount of time until this came up...
:o

i've never indulged on it over the phone, i find it better to do it in person where the results can be viewed. Although i am quite sadistic in taking pleasure out of lengthening people's desires...

Why would I talk to somebody on the phone if I'm in the room with them?

On those 1-900-Hot Babe ads.."We'll talk about whatever you want." I have an urge to call and ask if they're going to see X-Men 3, who will win the World Series, who's your favorite Stooge?

I was talking to my ex. He asked me to call him at 10:30pm and we were still talking at 4:30am!

My longest call? From Florida to Pennsylvania. I was in Florida and had to call home.
