I'm a janitor in my local school district and tend to work alone all day. This allows me to listen to podcasts for nearly my entire shift. I listen to a lot... 30+ hours a week, but a lot of my pods are Football related and are cutting back their weekly number of releases, so I thought I'd get a conversation going to see who here listens to podcasts and maybe we can get some recommendations going.

The ones I'm currently listening to are:

Politics
Ben Shapiro
Dan Bongino
Blunt Force Truth with Chuck Woolery & Mark Young

Football/Fantasy Football
Around the NFL
Move the Sticks
Bengals Booth
The Orange and Black Insider
The Bengals Beat Podcast
Dynasty Nerds
The Fantasy Footballers
Dynasty League Football: Dynasty Podcast

Other
Unexplained
The Heat and Light Podcast
The Prancing Pony Podcast (I'm listening as I read the Tolkien books coinciding with the episodes)
My Dad Wrote A Porno (Not my sort of thing normally, and I've about listened to all I can handle, but the three hosts are hilarious)

Any other podcast fans around here? Any recommendations to help fill the void left as my NFL podcasts dial back for the off season? Any topics.

Note: I'm not big on True Crime myself. I know that's popular, and my wife LOVES them, but I'm not a fan.

I used to listen to PocketNow's podcasts but I think I only did that because I liked Michael Fisher's voice.

ive never listened to a podcast before

Politics:None

Football/Sports:None

Science:

Insitome - Genetic Anthropology
Are We There Yet? Space Exploration Podcast
Ignition Time: One Word. Five Minutes...

Well, if you'd stop eating them, we'd be able to joke about it. Until then, we just need to get you the help you need.

I never thought I'd like them, but my wife loved them. So with so much time at work and getting tired of my music, and being burnt out on audio books... I decided to give them a shot. I ended up really liking them. At one point all I listened to were football podcasts but started branching into other types earlier this year. So now I'm on the look out for anything interesting.

I definitely recommend giving it a shot if you get the chance. Most of them are between 40 minutes and an hour so that people can fit them in while commuting.

Hmm... haven't thought to look up some science ones. Space Exploration could be cool. Hmm... I wonder if there's any good paleontology pods. I used to be really into that when I was younger. Anyhow... I'll download an episode of some of these and give them a shot on Monday.

Comics:

Inner Demons: Ghost Rider Podcast

I'm yet to find a good comic book pod that I like. I tried that... what was it called... Jay & Miles explain the X-Men... something like that. It was pretty bad. :(

What's the premise of it?
It was just the staff of a YouTube channel and technology website called PocketNow talking about the latest in smartphones, gadgets, and computers.

Ah... technology irritates me so that's probably not a good fit :D

Personally I don't listen to it anymore since the staffer I mentioned earlier left the site and pretty much went solo with his own channel.

I listen to a lot since I barely have to talk to people at my job.

Edge and Christian's Pod of Awesomeness
The Herd with Colin Cowherd
Skip and Shannon: Undisputed
What Really Happened?
Stuff You Should Know
Lip Service
The Joe Rogan Experience
StarTalk
TED Radio Hour

How Did This Get Made
Joe Rogan Experience
Bill Burr
Some Nerdist
Bret Easton Ellis- which is/was the best podcast about the process of filmmaking/movies current hollywood bs politics out there imo, but he has not made one in a long time.

Fatman on Batman- Only when Kevin Smith has another director or writer on the podcast its worth listening. He has turned this into a lame YT show.

Some that get the most traffic from me right now:

Ken and Robin Talk About Stuff.
Role Playing Public Radio (and their RPPR Actual Play feed)
Happy Jacks RPG Podcast
This American Life
The Gameinformer Show

Have you checked out Comic Geek Speak? I enjoy them, especially their character spotlight episodes.

No, I haven't. I'll go ahead and download a few episodes of that now.

Currently I'm swapping between the Super Best Friendcast (Video game, movie, and random bull**** news along with their own YT stuff). I'm a big fan of their channel so the podcast is just more of the same.

Jay and Miles X-Plain the X-Men (self-explanatory),

Welcome to Night Vale (More of a twilight zone/Twin Peaks style newsradio thing),

Plumbing the Death Star (Three idiots try and explain away stuff like How do you Feed a Mogwai? or How radioactive is Spider-Man?)

Pretty much the more known ones:

Animation: RebelTaxi's Pizza Party
CBM & CBtv: The Weekly Planet
Politics: The Rush Limbaugh Show / Louder with Crowder

Also, in that descending order since I haven't listened to something prior in months-years

I'm going to give these guys another chance. I listened to them a while ago and just felt that the entire thing felt so scripted that it was annoying. Then I tried a live one and they got political which was annoying. Maybe now that I'm used to podcasts I can get used to the scripted feel. Plus I can see that they've entered the 90s which is my favorite. We'll see how it goes.

For a weekly comic book breakdown there's also the Ifanboy Pick of the Week podcast.

Considering that one half of the Podcast is Trans (and very vocal about it) and both are very Liberal which comes across in their podcast, you may not enjoy it.
