Sequels When do the rights for Daredevil expire?

If Fox doesn't make a Daredevil movie soon, doesn't that mean they lose the rights to make anymore movies?

I'm asking because I really hope they lose so Sony could get it and put the King Pin in a Spider-Man movie.

Next year, I think. Elektra came out in 2005, and I think Fox has to use the rights every 3 years or else they revert back to Marvel.

Personally, I'm excited about Fox's hold on "Daredevil" expiring, so that we can finally get a proper sequel (hopefully with the original cast and director all on board). Marvel would (presumably) be doing it in-house like "Iron Man".

Same director? Same Ben Affleck? You really want people to laugh at Daredevil again? MSJohnson should be banned from directing superhero films ever.

MSJ is a good director, and yes, I actually liked Affleck as both Murdock and Daredevil. I'd prefer it was a litle darker though for the sequel, like the original's Director's Cut DVD.

That'd be the way to go. Affleck works as Murdock, though I can't say I like him in much else. Good Will Hunting was cool. He has his moments.

Anyway. Yes, darker would be good. I think maintaining most of the style of the original would keep it pretty dark, they'd just have to try not to do things like the park fight. While kinda funny, and likely to happen in a comic book... I dunno. I like it and I don't.

I'm planning on one day doing a Daredevil fanfilm, when I'm actually able to get some $$$ saved up for it. I really like a lot of the volume 2 storylines, and that's what my script will be based upon. That's where they should go. Make it artsy. I would like if they did something with Karen, since they felt they should include her in the original. Elektra's gone for now, they've got time.

I think Kingpin brings more to the series than you'd think. Among other things, he'd give Pete a chance to exercise that big ol' brain of his. So far, with a few exceptions, he's used to his fists to stop the bad guy. Some of my favorite Spidey moments are when he's beatin the streets doin some good old fashioned detective work (Batman's not the only super-hero PI out there). I think a Kingpin saga would bring a very interesting new element into the series.

The Kingpin should stay with DD. He started with Spider-Man, but most of his classic stories are with DD. Also, Spidey has other villains to use that brain to defeat. Curing the Lizard, seeing through Mysterio's illusions, etc. Plus, he used his brain to beat Venom in SM3, so it isn't like all the villains got beat by Peter's fistycuffs.
