Does anyone think it will effect Spidey in any way shape or form? Do you think they'll avoid mentioning any of it to due away with the whats happened since then? Do you think they will use Kingpin in the future of Spider-Man?

I'm fairly certain that anything that happened in Back in Black has absolutely no consequence in spidey's future, which is a damn shame cause spidey finally taught kingpin a lesson he shoulda learned a long time ago, you don't f*&% with Spider-man. lol

I can't see them using Kingpin anytime soon in Spidey's world, and if they do they will probably just pretend BIB never happened to avoid a lot of confusion.

Yeah, the biggest criminal mastermind of New York for YEARS... NO ONE messes with him or threatens him...

he gets his fat ass handed to him, beat down like a turd. He remembers it? Doesn't care? Doesn't remember it? Doesn't know why he would hire a sniper to kill a nerdy photographer and his old Aunt?

I honestly believe that there are some Spidey-fans, that no matter what happens in those pages, will always find some kind of silver-lining to either deny the crappiness of what has happened, or are so incredibly addicted to buying this title that it wouldn't matter if Marvel shipped an issue of Spider-Man that some homeless man wiped his stinky ass with... these kinds of fans will deny that anything is ever wrong, ever, with anything. They will continue to tell themselves the same thing over and over until it is truth.

Perception is reality, after all.

Ok face it they can't say everything happened when clearly things happen because people know his identity. Norman and Harry Osborn both don't know now but a lot of stuff they did they wouldn't have done if they didn't know. so what are their memories all the same stuff happened, but they never saw Peter's face??? There have been a lot of good stories since BND started, but there isn't a single story they couldn't have done if Pete and MJ were together and Aunt May Died. In fact he'd probably end up having a steady job and not look like a dead beat all the time cause he never has rent money. I'm not gonna go on the big rant that we all have done already about the events of OMD/BND but its just hard to put what did and didn't happen behind us when there are things that clearly didn't happen. There have been a lot of good stories since BND began I just wish they'd started explaining everything then instead of now 3 times a month for 12 months was plenty of time to let us know whats what and why things are the way they are, but it looks like thats all most of the new issues are doing now and then eventually we'll be able to get the OMD monkey off our backs.

Yeah, Back in Black may have still happened, but it doesn't make much sense, and it didn't have quite as much impact, now.

Honestly, Marvel would do better by saying that it never happened, simply because explaining it is so damn complicated.

I'm not denying the fact that "how could BnB still happen", and I am still waiting for clarification as to "how"... but after the year we've had and the few bits of answers/explanations we've gotten so far, I'm more convinced that we'll get them within the next few months... possibly 6 tops... which is still ok within my 12 to 18 months of waiting it out that I told you about a few months back and you said that that was a reasonable amount of time.

In the meantime, I'm still digging the new direction, in spite of the few "bad" issues that have come out...

It's hard to say... it's not like JMS paid much attention to what was happening to the characters he used in other books...

Yeah, basically, it occurres as Kingpin wa leaving the prison after Matt got him off the hook. In DD, it runs seamlessly...since it goes from Kingpin getting off the hook, straight to him next to Vanessa's grave.

I can't wait to read that arc with the new explination. Change all the peter parker's in it to "random guy I have no idea about but I still had your aunt winged for no reason and now you're beating me within an inch of my life embarrassing me in front of everyone, but whom I will in no way attempt to get vengence on or even mention again", that's entertainment.

The long and short of it is when they explain it in twelve years, BiB didn't happen. It's impossible to have that happen and then no one remembers a thing about it. But people hold out hope, it is the season for believing.

There hasn't been much thus far... Aunt May's house getting rebuilt and Harry's ressurection makes good sense...

So where's the "huge amount of suspension of disbelief required to swallow all of this"?



Maybe I'll look around the "required amount of sensibility" that JMS used to make us believe that Gwen willingly had sex with Norman because of his... ugh... sex appeal.

Harry's ressurection was an easy fix, cause it was essentially the same as norman's. But everything that happened in Civil War and BnB just do not make sense with the new status quo. Seriously how would YOU explain it?

I have no idea... I'm not a creative writer...

However, I'm willing to bet it ties into the "spell" that Peter (and friend) did to make the world forget his identity as well as throwing people off from even suspecting that Peter Parker is Spider-Man, as seen in the Kraven girl story and in NWTD.

And rather than getting "angry" about it, I'm patiently waiting for the explanations. Marvel has been good thus far and have kept their word on explaining things, so why would I think they won't explain this?
